Mike, Did you ever get it resolved if you need both #17 & #19 cross members for your 2019 fuel tank skid plate install? I have a 2019 as well and I get conflicting information.

The bypass is literally just shorting 4 sets of 3 pins together. I created my own with some spare RC electronics parts. Very little to go wrong there. You could test the bypass to see that the three pins in each row all have continuity.

I just watched another video theorizing that the problem is caused by poor cam lubrication. My current take away is to keep MDS active to keep lifter oil pressure as high as possible and to limit idling to a minimum. For those in cold climates, that may mean making the investment of heated seats.
