    Oil Temp while Towing

Well - that would make sense! (kinda!) The heater block is going to transfer coolant temps to the transmission, so they should track together. You would have thought there would be a valve or something to cut out the heater block once the transmission was at temp.

    Oil Temp while Towing

Oddly fuel milage was a wash. On my 2400 mile trip 2 years ago, I was in the high 7's, low 8's the entire way. The last couple of legs I was around 8.6 and I swear the hardest climb was coming up off the hoover dam (may be that I was out of ducks being that close to my destination, I just...

    Oil Temp while Towing

Digging up an old post here - I was looking for something on Tranny temps. I have a 24' v-nosed enclosed car hauler w/10k axles. I used it to move from the east coast (Philly area) to Las Vegas almost 2 years ago (with the 2020 in my signature). I was at max gross, legal on all axles with...

3.21 vs 3.92: The Last Word

Level kit AND spacers - still on wish list. Reluctant to do them because I DO use the truck. Wdh and bags probably offset the level, but clearly don’t care enough about the results to spend the time & money.

3.21 vs 3.92: The Last Word

I’ve had 2 5th gens. Both non etourque v8’s. The first had 3.21’s, the second 3.92’s. I prefer the 3.92, but understand if you want the mpg advantage. Then again, if you want better mileage, then perhaps NOT a truck is what you need. Word

    Antifreeze smell

Seemed to do well. Did a long road trip and made a point to breathe deeply every time we stopped and nothing. Declared success, even updated YouTube video description, and then the other day after a short trip I could smell antifreeze again. But not near the rad cap, so … who knows. Either...

    Antifreeze smell

For what it’s worth, a couple of trips down, all long enough to get to full operating temp, zero coolant smell.

    Antifreeze smell

I know it’s not under pressure otherwise it would easily blow off. But it does blow and suck and as loose as it was warm…. Idk. I work from home so it might be a week plus before I know if it has any affect.

    Antifreeze smell

A little over 11,000 miles on my 2020 and it just started doing this. Read this thread, came home and popped the hood trying to see if I could smell where it’s coming from. Definitely seems strongest in the vicinity of the radiator cap. Then I noticed the overflow line doesn’t have a clamp...

    Anyone else happy with MPG?

I just went over 10k. On a recent trip from Vegas to Tucson and back I averaged 18.2. Not babying it at all, running 65-80 mph, up and down hills. You can see in my sig she’s no lightweight. I bought a truck because I needed a truck. That it gets anything over 15 exceeds my expectations.

    Weight Distribution Hitch Poll

Husky centerline - used it for a cross country move with a 24” car hauler at max gross. Towed fantastic. Don’t discount it just because it doesn’t cost $1k.

What did you name your truck?

For reason I can’t explain we name all the cars.. My 19’ bighorn didn’t have a name until it developed an issue. It’s now referred to as ‘Crack.’ My 20 Laramie is ‘Fluffy’

New to Ram - Big Horn or Laramie?

My ‘19 bighorn has 3.21, the ‘20 Laramie has 3.92. I really needed the 3.92 (towing at/near max!). The 3.21 felt a bit dim-witted - I’m not convinced they didn’t do some programming changes in the transmission between the 2 trucks. The 3.92 is much snappier, faster to respond to throttle...

Why does no one else want the truck I do?

Both my 5th gens were/are 6’4”. Of all the packages on my Laramie, ORP wasn’t one I had to have, but ultimately I’m extremely happy with it. I searched and went to quite a few dealers, I found the listings were never very accurate when searching online. Ultimately though I just got lucky...
