You don't know. You just put in what feels like enough, and never truly fill your tank until you hit a pump that works.

The hooks would never hold like an s-hook, they're quite small,

My trailer has these weird safety chain hooks, I don't know how to use them, and feeding this through the hitch is difficult (mainly because of the extra link) I've considered cutting them off, and just using an S hook or quick link, but I am curious how these are supposed to work

We have CAMVAP - Home, but I'm not sure we're there...yet.

Basically the "solution" since of course it worked perfectly at the gas station across from the dealer was "make sure the nozzle is fully seated, and if it's a pump where you can't, go somewhere else"

Looks like they did that part. I think the dusty conditions could be relevant for most people... drive some gravel, or anyone in Canada with snow in the winter (which is when it seems to be the worst)
