I've had Retrax on previous trucks, but for this one I've gone with the VEVOR Cannister Rolling cover. Installation is fine, rollup isnt as smooth as the Retrax, but for the price I've been pretty happy with it. I wouldnt drive with it half open and locked like I would with a Retrax, but its...
The Gen5DIY harness is great, but glad I got mine years ago, they are proud of them now - 19-25 Ram Radar Detector Harness
I've had a mirror tap fall out, so prefer the harness approach, but glad it worked for you.
There is also a lot of "replica" 3M Adhesive thats used on those from China, I've found that stuff mentioned works well, and has held up in 105+ days in AZ, and even 129 in Death Valley during 2023!
The adhesive that comes with dash cams is trash. Get some of the 3M Automotive Double-Sided Molding Tape (available at Wally World), should have a red backing tape. Clean off the mounting surface with an alcohol wipe. Apply the tape and if your camera is removable from the mount, let it sit for...
If you have any suspension issues just remove the airbags before dropping it off. As long as you havent overloaded the axle there shouldnt be anything.
I havent had much luck with the CG Honeydew and my Amazon Foam Cannon, it does foam, but usually seems to be lowwer lather than I was hoping. Almost out so onto another brand to try.
My BlueSkySea one has started finally kicking the can after baking in the Sun for a few years. The incident record button just deletes the recording instead :cautious:
Supprised no-one is yet making a Dash can that can tap the reverse camera for a secondary souce (ala Tesla).
Pre-COVID, my local non-franchise dealer was best for service. Since COVID most of the larger dealers at least in my area have been paying big to steal techs. So as much as I hate it, to get any level of service I've had to go with Autonation :shudders:
Bottle jack and a decent ammount of cribbage to have a stable base. Even if you have a flat on the car rather than the trailer, the cribbage helps keep the jack in a more stable position (< 45 degrees between arms)
Better to get an eTrailer or Shureline hitch weight scale if your concerned about tounge weight. I have the eTrailer and was worth the investment. Even with my non-standard hitch (ProPride/Hensley) I can still measure hitch weight using the tounge jack.
The weight safe hitches are good, but a...
If they somehow go above any beyond (like, did they wash the billon bugs off it for example), something, sure. But if they just drop off the car in the same condition it was picked up? No. Hotshot freight drivers wouldnt normally get tips from buisnesses they do pickups/dropoffs for.
When you open and close your doors with the Truck off, do you hear a pop from the speakers? I think its a bug that came with the Feburary OTA update, radio turns on and off, and eventually resets.
