    Farewell 5.7

Beauty of a lease is you know what your cost of ownership is for the next 24-36mo every time you sign the papers. No curveballs other than maybe a deductible.

    Farewell 5.7

There is something to be said for not owning a depreciating asset. Renting/leasing a vehicle is beneficial in many ways if you never want unanticipated expenses and like to have newer cars/trucks.

    Farewell 5.7

Every OEM has bad engines. Godspeed. I wished the same thing but after 10, 20, 30k mi, nope. 6.2 technically says premium recommended, so you wouldn't have to run it. But higher performance often comes at a higher cost. Same story with a TRX, etc.

    Farewell 5.7

V8 half tons will soon be a thing of bygone years. OEMs are all going to V6 turbo engines, and for a reason. All I can compare is my daily driving life experience with these engines in similar conditions, distances, etc. and the 5.7 was worst of all.

Also as a data point I had 3.21 gears on my truck... could get it to read low 20s in a situation like @silver billet describes, but that was downhill with a tail wind type stuff.

Correct, which is what I said.

    Farewell 5.7

No truck is perfect, but the 5.7 was the worst MPG and performance I've experienced on a full sized 1500 truck, which was especially insulting with the e-torque mild hybrid features. YMMV of course. Have owned four half ton trucks, including the 5.3 and 6.2 GM engines, and the 5.7 Mopar (mostly...

    Farewell 5.7

After 2.5 years, I've gone back to GM. The 5.7 e torque had the worst MPGs I've seen from a modern V8 truck, and far less power and fuel economy than the 6.2 GM motor. While I'll miss the sweet interior and other features of the limited, everything under the hood is forgettable.

    Surging at low speeds?

In my case this happens anytime the truck is cold, and the RPMs are higher during warmup.

    Ram 1500 eTorque Voltage question

My 21 1500 5.7 etorque, 23k mi and woke up to a dead truck yesterday. Wouldn't even unlock, so I pulled the key out of the fob to open the driver side door. Jumped and ran for an hour, seems to be ok now. This is very concerning, and I dislike having such an issue going into winter. If anyone...

Sled Decks on 19-23 Ram 1500 Limited

Yes and yes, I run a 8' deck with the 6'4" bed. The airbags work well, and 95% of the time I haul just one sled on it. One feature I really like is the ability to drop the truck into exit/entry mode when parked on an incline as it drops the rear of the truck to make the loading angle less...

    7 way plug in bed

It's a preference of plugging 7 pin into the inside of truck for a 400lb snowmobile deck, which has reverse lights and the lighting assembly is better run through a 7 pin for that reason. Also better than running it under the tailgate to the exterior to catch road spray all winter.

    7 way plug in bed

Hey folks, I searched but didn't find any discussion about this topic. Has anyone installed 7 way plug in their 1500 bed? I'd like to plug into a 7 way there and it would be cleaner than running the down the the factory location next to license plate. How did you do it? Where did you tie into...

    Fitting 18 Inch Wheels?

I am running KMC Impact 18x9" 00MM offset on my 21 ram limited. Rides/looks great. There isn't much clearance between the rotor and wheel and a few small rocks have caused small scratches on the inside of the rim on dirt roads. Balance weights must be placed on the inside and outside of the rim...
