Basically, a slot for each side, a bit wider than the bar itself. I've installed this same model on my last 3 trucks, and have done each by cutting the air dam in place, rather than removing it as the directions recommend.

A lift doesn't void warranty, other than than specific parts modified. RAM would have to prove the lift caused the specific issue I order to deny a warranty claim.
A lift plus larger tires usually equates to about 2-3 mpg loss on the trucks I've done.
BDS finally confirmed their 4 inch kit for air suspension models would work on 2021s, so was able to get my limited lifted. I had AirLinks on it for 3 months and they worked fine, but wasn't ever meant to be my final answer.

Without wading into all the replies (one page of the tech nay sayers was enough), my advice to the OP is this: only take the truck if you "need" it now and can't wait. I have tried to convince myself 2 times over the last 7 years that I would be ok with a truck even though it didn't have certain...
Some bulbs just won't work in the 3rd brake bed light. I've had good luck in 3 trucks with some from Amazon. Search my threads for my latest build for the link.
There is no reason they "had to" put spacers on. Regardless, something isn't right. Either the spacers are messed up, or the lift, tire balancing, or alignment.
In other words, you could go without spacers and be fine, or should be able to go with spacers and also be fine.
I had great luck with these in my 19 low beams and fogs. I have a set left that I should sell, that I bought for my high beams but didn't install before trading.
