Cerbo is probably right. My truck did the same thing. Had to go into settings menu to disable the speed warning.

I can barely see it with my polarized sunglasses, but I don't have the brightness maxed out. You should check with your sunglasses before you buy. Couldn't be happier having the HUD. Sure glad I got it. Very used to it. Hate to be without it.

Or you could build a box to fit the bed of your truck. Set it on upside down appliance rollers so the box can be rolled out far enough to unload the items you need.
