Well....I am happy to say my Ram 1500 is gone. The noise got the best of me and unfortunately RAM was not able to fix it. I traded it in yesterday on a 2500 CTD and couldn't be happier.
I have already gone down the arbitration path and failed as FCA came back and said the noise is deemed normal and that it is no way impedes the use of the vehicle and or presents a safety issue. This is why I am considering getting a lawyer to represent my case.
Well...here I am back again.
To get all up to date. I purchased my truck last July and have had squealing brakes since nearly day 1. The truck has now had 4 visits to the same dealer with the front rotors and pads replaced, back rotors and pads replaced, and then most recently, rear pads...
This is getting to a point where I am shopping for a new truck as I don't see FCA making this a priority and their response to this has been very poor. Basically...deal with it.
Ram,
Please assist me with my ongoing brake noise issue. The truck has been in 4 times with all brakes being replaced at this point. The last visit it was said that there is a rear caliper issue but no ETA. The noise is getting to the point of being unbearable as it is louder than ever and...
I am with all of you :( I have been to the dealer 4 times, with all brakes being replaced and not only is the squeal still there, it is louder than ever before and happens 100% of the time.
The last visit with my dealer said it is a known issue with no ETA to be fixed. I think this is...
I commend you on your patience and do agree that this is par for the course when buying a 1st year car. This is now my 3rd - 1st year production and everytime i tell myself I will never do it again :).
My frustration purely comes from the significant inconvenience this has caused me with the...
There is a fix for the hood issue. Not sure exactly what they do but my dealer kept mine overnight to add some epoxy or something to fix for hood flex.
Disc brakes have been in mass production since the 50's which is why it is so surprising in today's world with all the technology that this is even possible.
Everytime I hit the brakes I can feel my heart rate rising.
It is not a pad issue but actually a rear caliper design issue. This was told to me directly by FCA as they were unable to fix my noisy brakes. The paperwork said it was a known issue and that they are working on a fix and will put out a TSB when ready, ETA unknown.
Very very frustrating as I...
Over the past 4 visits all rotors and pads have been replaced; so I opened a STAR case with Chrysler as they came back and said it is a known issue, and the issue is the rear caliper and that their will be a fix in the future. Very poor experience with Chrysler in how this is being handled as...
I have just completed my 4th visit with my dealership with all rotors and pads replaced and it still makes noise. I opened a STAR case with FCA and they came back and said it is a rear caliper issue and that at some point there will be a fix, a future fix. Not sure if that means it is a...
