What is the easiest way to tell which rear differential I have? 21 1500 Bighorn 5.7 Etorque

3.92 at 70 mph will be around 2000 rpm, 3.21 will be about 1700 rpm at the same speed. You can also look up the Monroney label and it will list the options

Run your VIN

Agree with this, lookup your sticker. I always find and download my sticker the day I buy it, good for a reference later. Some MFG's remove that info after a few years. So save it while you can.

Likely easy to guess. It's an option on Bighorn, but I'd say unlikely unless you have other packages (towing) that would suggest you have it.

Doesn't work for mine??
Tried several times, states unsupported VIN #.

2025s are weird, for some reason. They do not work with that tool. Try this guy's tool. Works nicely for most.

Although I feel the build tools above are easier, if you have a 4x4, you can also look at the tag on the back, bottom side of the front differential. The rear tag is probably wiped/unreadable by now, being a 2021, but that front tag is protected a lot better and usually still legible. I know on my previous Rams, the rear tag was usually illegible after only a couple years, but the front tag persevered for many.

They absolutely can. The window sticker will show alterations and additions that might not be reflected by the VIN.
The equipment listing sheet shows everything that truck rolled off the assembly line with, including whatever options the dealer ticked when it was ordered. Dealers aren't modifying anything beyond that, except for the one-off trucks like the Black Widow aftermarket package.

That won't necessarily show options ordered by the dealer.

In my case the truck was on the lot. I wanted the tube side steps installed. Dealer got the parts and installed them before I picked up the truck. Build sheet generated when I entered my VIN clearly shows the option installed. I have another build sheet from a different website that does not show the tube steps.

It shows the build sheet, now if something is done after at the dealership, then no, but it will show how the truck was buil

To restate my original argument: Your VIN might not reflect the actual equipment in the truck, as it sits on the dealer lot.

The listing sheet will not always agree with the information on a VIN lookup.
Since you deleted, YES this build sheet shows all options when you scroll to the bottom of it. Are we clear now?!?

In fact my VIN calls for 25 gal tank, open diff, 3.55 gears. This is also the equipment described on the left side of the window sticker. The right side shows equipment packages installed: 3.92's, LSD, 33 gal tank, among other options.
So let's go back and reread my original post:
"That won't necessarily show options ordered by the dealer. "
In response to the comment:
"[...] just have the vin"
And therefore your VIN might not tell you your actual gear ratio.
Is that clearer now?

Have a Great Day! :ROFLMAO: Keep the hat on!
