I’m configuring trucks to try and figure out what I want, but it would appear based on the build & price that if you pick a Laramie with the 5’7 bed and the 3.0 you can only get 3.55 gears? 3.92 forces you into the Hemi? You have to pick the 6’4” bed to get the 3.92.

Is that actually a thing or just the build and & price being crappy? You can spec the 3.0 with 3.92s and short bed on every other trim.

Good catch! sounds like a config bug or axle rule. Try the dealer builder, or ask the dealer for the axle code.

Interesting, did not notice this before. All the Laramie 1500s in my area that have the Hurricane also have the 3.55 ratio.

Looks like it may have been a 2026 change for Laramies. In 2025, you could get either ratio with the Hurricane. When they brought back the Hemi, looks like they also locked axle ratios to the engine choice for that trim. I see the Big Horn still offers the 3.0 with 3.92 ratio, and obviously the Rebel does too. Odd choice to limit the Laramie.

With the turbos, it's not really a limit. The 3.55 would actually be a better ratio for a turbo engine over the 3.92.

I will take your word for it, but regardless, thats not what I find odd.

I find it odd they limited that change to just the Laramie trim. Maybe because its one of the most popular trims? Or maybe they were running out of 3.92 sets, the Hemi being so popular that they needed them all for those builds?

I haven't looked, because I'm not in the market, but does the Limited with the HO offer the 3.92? The TRX was only available with the 3.55.

Edit: just looked, and limited has standard 3.92 gears and no option for anything else with the HO

seems like they have some weird stuff going on with axle rayrios and different configurations, as far as what's available with what. 4x2 vs 4x4. Bed and cab sizes. Engines...

I’m going to assume it’s a glitch that got missed. It seems weird that they would limit 3.92s on that one particular configuration, and not every other trim with the exact same cab/bed.

Agreed. When I built and ordered my 2022 Laramie through Mark Dodge, the Ram site had all kinds of bug issues and my sales person helped my figure them all out.
