Didn’t see a dedicated place where people have been posting their analysis of fluids. I’ve been using Blackstone on my BMWs for years although I know they’re not the “best” per se. either way wanted to create a 1 stop shop for people to post their results and mileage etc.

I plan to use this one just for oil changes and make another unless someone beats me to it, for differentials and transfer cases.

Anyway my first oil change results.

Nice, I sent my sample last Saturday, It will be interesting to compare results.
Oddly, I think I put down 1570 for mileage also, weird.

This is a boutique oil I use. Not an off the shelf brand you can get at parts store.

Ooooo I’m intrigued. Whats the oil? Thoughts behind it? Was the your first 6k miles or is that 6k refer to interval? Any thoughts as to the higher levels of metals at this mileage?

It's Quantum Blue oil made by BND Automotive. Blended specifically for the Hemi. Owner of the company is a Mopar guy. The main company makes oils mostly for industrial customers. The Quantum blue line came his desire for a better oil for his own car, and he started offering it to others. He's been doing the Hemi blend for 20 years.

As far as results. Brian, from BND Automotive says the copper is from the oil cooler, and he has an additive in the oil to help with the deterioration of the oil cooler. The high phosphorous is a non-acidic version used as anti-wear.

I do 7k drain intervals. I took the sample at 6k just to see how well the oil was holding up and see if so need to shorten the interval. But I do not

Hmm curious, Why would the oil cooler be deteriorating?

Read the forums. Lots of issues posted of failed oil coolers causing oil to get into the coolant.

Ah haven’t seen it mentioned since I joined in December. Certainly wouldn’t search for something like that randomly. But sounds like a hemi thing. Curious though why coolant is being run to the oil cooler. Used to that being a separate system.

Mine failed. Probably around 150k. Had a bunch of oil in the coolant system and the oil looked watery when I drained it. I flushed out the system. I took the drain plugs out of the block to make sure I drained everything. Changed the part which is under the oil filter. It’s actually the part that the oil filter screws onto. Had trouble finding out what it was cause the dealer said there wasn’t an oil cooler. And I don’t think the actual part is called that. Buy I filled it back up with Mopar coolant and it was good to go. I’m at 199k miles now.

I think it's technically a oil heater, but works the other way as well. Most call it a cooler.

Because water is more effective than air for temperature control. There's also one for the transmission that uses coolant.

Got my report today, I'm no expert but things look good.
I'll do another after my third oil change, so how things change.
