I have debated one of these and read on a forum in here that they should be removed before going to the dealer. Not sure why if it is helping the engine. Why don't they do that from the factory? Wait....don't answer that!

I plan on putting one on and not removing it when I take my truck to the dealership. They can absolutely deny warranty work on your vehicle because a catch can modifies the evap system. It is not a replacement part in kind that would be covered under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

There is absolutely no way a catch can will void your warranty, and absolutely zero reason to remove it before dealer trip.
As far as why they aren't installed on engines from factory, added cost, and majority of car/truck owners rarely pop their hood to check oil, even between oil changes, do you think they would take the time to empty a catch can? No, and that would lead to issues of owners bringing vehicles to dealer for emissions caused because they didn't empty it

You might want to slow your roll on that one. Dealerships can absolutely void your warranty under certain circumstances.
This is from another forum but perfectly sums it up:
“The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act makes it illegal for companies to void your warranty or deny coverage under the warranty simply because you used an aftermarket part. Still, if it turns out that the aftermarket part was itself defective or wasn't installed correctly, and it caused damage to another part that is covered under the warranty, the manufacturer or dealer has the right to deny coverage for that part and charge you for any repairs. The FTC says the manufacturer or dealer must show that the aftermarket or recycled part caused the need for repairs before denying warranty coverage.
That being said, I would remove the catch can before going in for any engine-related repairs. It would only take a few minutes and you would avoid any possible hassles.”
If you think a catch can is going to void your warranty, you either don't understand them, or installed it so poorly that it somehow caused and issue.
Once again you’re missing the point and resorting to insults. They (dealerships) can absolutely void a warranty under certain circumstances, such as the reasons I listed in my previous post (did you read the entire post?).
And, once again, you are missing the point and resorting to flawed logic thinking there is any way a catch can is going to cause a failure. the only thing that could possibly be denied would be PCV issues which aren't detrimental to the engine as it's just an emissions control system. An aftermarket intake, or cat back exhaust stands just as much chance of causing issues. The dealer also isn't the one who would deny the warranty, that would be RAM corporate. Most desler techs aren't going to take the time to pin point the issue to an aftermarket part, unless it's obvious.
If you could explain how a catch can would cause issues, specific reasons, not just quoting the Magnuson/Moss Act with vague reasoning just because it's an aftermarket part. Maybe then you can be taken seriously.

So are you gonna offer to pay for someone’s repair bill if a claim they have gets denied because they left a catch can installed based on your recommendation not to remove it first? It’s great to have someone like you here who’s willing to do that.
While you’re technically correct that it’s Stellantis who approves or denies repairs, they generally take the dealership’s side when there is a dispute. So yes, a dealership can effectively deny a claim.

I would actually, because it will NEVER happen over a catch can.
As far as dealerships and warranty, I've seen it more often where the dealership is trying to help customer and Stallantis steps in and says no. It's in the dealership best interest to try and help the customer if they want repeat business. There was actually a local dealership group that was forced to sell off its Stallintis brand dealerships because the service department got caught fudging data in order to get repairs covered under warranty,.that otherwise wouldn't have been. Stellantis didn't like that much, but up until that point they were the "go to" dealer for local Mopar guys who.lcike modifying their vehicles. Not a single issue was caused by a catch can.
The only time I've seen dealerships actively trying to void warranty was because of bad attitude from customer. And it was a legit warranty issue on a car that only had exhaust and CAI on it. The issue was the car was burning over 1qt of oil every 500 miles. Which was a documented issue on that year/model/trim of car at the time, across multiple forums. Other owners were able to get their engines replaced under warranty, but because this guy wanted to yell at the dealer techs because Chevy was dragging their feet saying it was "within minutes". After they, they dealership just didn't care about helping this guy. Who is now, off the rails wacko, born again Christian drug addict.

I'm sorry my ability with copying and paste is not too hot...lol. With that said the J&L oil seperator is 169.99 and all comes with it to include the quick connect hoses with no tools needed for clamps. Its a small 3.0 Oz. can and comes in two choices of finish. Adding a seperator should absolutly cause no issues with warrenty unless installed improperly. The install for ones no so inclined comes with all to include install and video scan so the J&L will be easy for anyone to install properly. They are compact in size with the mount fitting for your application perfectly. I liked it so well I bought one fro my other two vehicles as well. Their web site is easy to navaigate and put in your make and model. Hope that helps you.

Im sorry....lol. I'm not so hot with copy and paste. But going to J&L web site will direct you with make and modle and comes with Scan and written install appliaction material. Its hoses are supplied too with plastic quick connects using no clamps and the mounting arm for the particular model. I have MOPAR and Ford both with great fits. The price with no shipping or tax was 169.99.
