Isn't that the key for the lock to lower the spare tire?
Hmm. Don’t recall seeing that anywhere in my truck when I picked it up last month. Now I must search for it.

Thanks for the replies, but Good Lord! A lock for the spare tire? I'd there much spare tire theft nowadays? Wonder where the previous owner lived....
It did have wheel locks on it as well. Took those off and posted them on Marketplace.
Not kidding with the dealers. Everytime I took my last truck to the dealer, I had to intentionally check in the truck for that key. I'm glad I did because a couple times they didn't put it back and I had to have them look for it.Ya I hate wheel locks. Just begging for issues down the road with tire shops. Plus I’ve never lived in an area where they steal wheels. But it they did then I would have an excuse to swap into some fuel or method haha

Wheel lock key? If you have wheel locks, you will need to remove the wheel locks on your rims...Do not throw this away, you will not like what happens if you do.Sorry, but I can't figure out on my own.
What is this device found in the glove box of my new to me 2022 Ram 1500 Bighorn quad cab and what is it used for?
Thanks. I already removed the wheel locks and sold them on Marketplace.Wheel lock key? If you have wheel locks, you will need to remove the wheel locks on your rims...Do not throw this away, you will not like what happens if you do.

I think there is an option to buy/install a spare tire lock - but I do not have that problem on my truck, but I have a Nused truck, and when I looked up the dealer sheet, that otption is not listed, and not sure what the previous owner installed. In my previous Chevy HD, I did have that option, and it was the door key for the truck.Thanks. I already removed the wheel locks and sold them on Marketplace.
This is much smaller than the wheel lock key. Others have said it's a key for lowering the spare tire. I'm going to try and remove it as well.

I appreciate the tips! ThanksIIRC, there's a short rod with the security lock that replaces the existing rod. You would need to source that standard rod piece.
Obviously, it's not accessible until you lower the spare tire. Just held in by a cotter pin as I recall. Check the spare tire jack/wrench carrier and see if someone stuck the old one in there. That's where I put mine.
