I think worrying the e-torque and if there are extra's in stock is a bit silly. If buying a new one, I suppose anything can break or be defective but what are the chances? With that said, I had a 2020 F150 STX 2.7 that had electrical gremlins and thanks to COVID, replacement parts I needed were not in supply, so I had to wait, wait, and wait. I ended up getting rid of it for a 2022 in mid 2021. So, not saying it can't happen, did to me, but I would say buy with confidence.
With that said, my 2023 5.7 Hemi with the e-torque, 4x4, Lone Star now has 23,7XX miles on it. I'm retired and don't really go anywhere, thus the low miles. But a few months back I was getting my oil changed at the dealership and I test drove a 2026 Ram 1500 Warlock with the SO Hurricane. My former F150's all had custom tunes, and a 93 octane or E50 tune on a turbocharged motor really wakes them up. But I also love naturally aspirated V8 motors, the sound, the connection you feel with the engine, etc. My 22 F150 was much quicker than my Ram 5.7 and this Hurricane felt as quick, if not quicker that that custom tuned F150. So driving that quiet but powerful Hurricane had my mind wandering. I have a low mileage, zero issue 2023 Ram 5.7 and for a trade-in, my truck payment would have been almost the same. Nothing lost, nothing gained, except I would get a truck with tremendous low to mid-range torque! However, I'm still driving my much beloved 5.7 Hemi as I decided to keep what is a good thing, for now at least. Maybe a cat-back exhaust to liven up the Hemi sound is in order, just to remind about the sexiness of a v8.
