Hi everyone. I am planning to buy a 2026 1500 Tungsten to replace my 2018 Limited. I would like to order it with th off road group but this include the E-Locker rear differrential, I actualy have a LSD 3.92 limited slip differential on my 2018 and I would like have your feedback about the E-Locker. Here in Quebec, winters are sometimes realy tough, on the road, on bad weather, my lsd made a very good job at any speed, the E-Locker disengage a 64km/hr or 40 m/hr then it become like a open differential. Is any of you have experience with both of these in winter and can share there opinions about this? Thanks and sorry for my bad english.

J'aimerais pouvoir vous aider, mais je ne sais pas ce qu'est l'hiver. Je peux vous confirmer que vous avez raison. C'est ouvert lorsque ce n'est pas occupé. Quelqu'un viendra vous aider sous peu.

Unless they changed it for 25/26 it actually unlocks at 25mph. I have not had any issues in Nebraska winters with the e-locker. Never felt that I needed the LSD to get around. 4-auto without locking the rear gets you 99% of the places you will drive on an average commute. 4-high covers the rest. Only need for the locker is off roading. These trucks actually have what's called a brake lock differential where it will automatically apply the brakes to spinning wheel to try and get the wheel not spinning power.

Merci de votre réponse rapide, vous ne manquez rien a ne pas avoir d'hiver, c'est jolie mais ça vous fait la vie dure.

Ive been to Quebec many times for the races!! I live in Syracuse, NY.... We have heavy winters here. My truck has 3.92 with the e locker. If I manually engage the e-locker you can feel it around corners but then it automatically disengages at 25mph (40 KPH) With it engaged the truck definitely makes much more traction in 2wd, If I put it in 4x4 high with the e-locker off I don't even notice that it is off and the truck drives through anything

I had the off road package on my 2019 Laramie with the e-locker. I used it several times and it always worked well for me.
It did take a bit of thinking in deep snow with it engaged I couldn't turn real short, I'd run up to the turn disengage it, get through the turn lift on the throttle if I was getting wheel spin and push the button again.
It was a more positive drive to the rears then the lsd is.

Only with the E-locker, had a real spring loaded limited slip in my AMX, it was good to send you sideways on a slippery surface.
But, anyways, the ram limited slip is what it is, limited IMO. I prefer the locker.
After getting up to the speed, the locker or the limited slip are no longer of any use.
YMMW.
