Ram app changed

My post seems to have ruffled some feathers. I am currently using a Google Pixl 8 Pro. I don't know what the OS version is since I don't have it on me but, that shouldn't be relevant. The app was doing fine with everything and I was waiting for the "phone as a key feature" to come when my free trial ended. My opinion is some of those features should be standard on the app in the first place. I did pay for the vehicle after all.

Almost every manufacturer requires a subscription to use app based features. Shoot, my wife's 2020 Traverse only had 3 months free trial, where as RAM offered 1 year free back in 2020.

Which is absurd for the limited functionality provided in that price.

$17.99/ Month now includes the whole kitchen sink including unlimited WiFi hotspot.

For new owners after the 17th, remote unlock and lock functionality as well as health reports is free for 10 years.

Was posted in an internal Stellantis Facebook group.

And I don’t know the answer to that. I’d suggest calling Ram Connect or logging in on the computer to check and see if your account can be changed.

It's sad that it cost so much! The truck was already very expensive! I just want the remote start, lock and unlock. I don't want or need any of the other crap they're offering. My wife's Volvo app is 100 times better and cost us nothing per year to have. And what the crap does the ventilation button do?? I've clicked it and nothing happens.

Lock/unlock should be available without subscription. I'm paying $5/mo for Sirius guardian for remote start and vehicle tracking

It's been added, in the app, for all 5th gen Rams. Not just new ones

The ventilation button turns the fans on to circulate air when the truck is off. I guess it's for when you leave your pets or kids in the vehicle alone. Just kidding. I assume for hot days but I just remote start it to cool it down. The app works great when you're out of key fob range.
