Hello everyone,

I have a 20 Rebel 3.0 D W/air ride.
My issues that I am having with this vehicle is the front end drops overnight and the back end stays up.
I have gone ahead and looked it all over with a soapy water bottle and found a couple of issues.
1. The manifold was leaking around the fitting so I replaced the manifold filled it up with air for testing purposes, no leaks! i thought this was good but in the morning the front end had dropped and the back end stayed up.
2. I sprayed all the connections and around the front bags to see if there is any leaks and i found none, I don't know how else to check the front bags other than spraying with soap and water and look for bubbles, if anyone knows another way to check the front bags for leaks that would be helpful.
3. I sprayed all around the compressor and the lines and they have not leaks.
4. I pulled down rear bag covers and sprayed them at all positions and found the smallest air leaks with the soapy water, more of a very small cluster of bubbles other than seeing a big bubbles that would make me say that's the problem, also why would the front fall and not the back if the back are leaking.

I have filled the tank reservoir up to 170 psi and let it sit for 5 day and now it is down to 100 psi in the tanks, It has to be leaking but where???
I really don't want to start buying parts and throwing them at it hoping I am want to find the problem.
I know people are going to say remove it, but I like it to help my parents who are 80 in and out of it at the entry mode.

If there is a good replacement with a lift pls let me know, don't want to go higher than say 4 inch or the stock off road position.

Anyone had this same issue????
Any help will be great.
Thanks in advance Ryan

I have a good idea how this system works but am having a hard time pinning down how the front end drops so quick

In your camp here, never had air suspension in all of my previous rams and had a lot of them and always wished for it for I use the trucks for. Now I have it and dam sure would never remove it.

You have done a lot and right steps; I would take it one further and since now you know it tests good during the day is test in similar temps to what it is overnight. The temp seems to be the root cause to the leak meaning wherever it is most likely in a fitting that leaks when colder from thermal expansion/contraction etc.

If you really want to find it use an evap smoke machine, may not be the cleanest method in terms of internal of the air system but shouldn't be harmful. It would take a while most likely to build up enough pressure hopefully to expose a leak, but there are high pressure ones out there if the normal ones are not enough.

And just to be clear when you say you filled it up to 170psi, that was with nitrogen or shop air? If the later that would be the bigger of the reasons why you seen the pressure drop over 5 days and may not even have a leak anymore. If nitrogen was filled and had that leaking, then yes still leaking somewhere.

Thanks so much for trying to help me find the root of this problem.
I was jus using shop air to fill the system up and agree temp can cause the PSI to lower for sure.
I live in Canada so our temps do go up and down but this has been a problem when it was warm and now in the cold doesn't discriminate lol.
I have sprayed all the fittings multiple time to see if I missed anything and cant see any leaks on any of the lines?
It baffles me that I see small leak on the right rear bag but the front left drops???
I really don't want to throw parts at this.

I do have access to a smoker machine so i am going to give it a try and see if I can see anything, thanks for that idea, just going to have to come up with a idea how to attach it to the line?

If you have any more ideas pls let me know.

Cheers Ryan

You may have to disconnect a corner, run smoke in through that fitting and then repeat going all the way around since you will be taking out a bag/strut as you go.

right rear being closet to the compressor may have something to do with it dropping on cattycorner, but odd I agree.
