My 21 Ram 1500 with 74k miles has been at the dealership for over a month and there have been three major issues discovered (two resolved) up to this point. First, low compression in cylinder 7--turned out to be a faulty injector. Then the dealership called and said "oh by the way you have another issue that we need to fix" which ended up being cracks in both exhaust manifolds. Then they called back and said they "found an even bigger problem" which turned into a failure from the E-torque MGU. The dealership is not able to get an ETA from Ram for the last three weeks....so I called and set up a "case" with Ram corporate. I called today to hear "our parts dept is unable to provide an ETA" for sourcing the part. What the heck?! I've been vehicle-less for 7 weeks with no end in sight, no rental offer, no offer to offset vehicle payment, nothing. Just a "we will let you know when we hear something." I'm considering hiring legal representation to try to resolve the issue. Any other ideas?

Annoy the India outsourced customer support reps until they eventually elevate you to Ram Customer Retention in Michigan. From my recent 3 month experience waiting for a part for a 21 Rebel, this seems to be the top of the Ram customer support pyramid. Had to penetrate 2-3 levels of India reps. Maximize your interactions with email (a) because it provides a record and (b) the India folks are difficult to understand on the phone. Loaner is a dealer prerogative, get the Service Mgr involved. That worked for me. At the end, Customer Retention will handle any reimbursement. Besides payments, be sure to factor in insurance, depreciation, vehicle rentals (if needed), stress, etc. I found Customer Retention easy to work with and reasonable.
