On the longer camping trips when I'm towing - and getting 8 miles to the gallon - having some extra gas easily accessible. I already have the 33 gallon tank but I'm wondering what's out there that would add a small auxiliary tank in the bed. I guess I could always toss some 5 gallon cans in the back, but I was thinking of other options. Looking for something that's also easily removable for when I'm not towing and can have an empty bed for everything else.

If you’re not going all-in with the 2nd tank, fuel line connections, and wiring up the truck properly, then I’d go with plastic 5 gallon cans in the bed. Get three of them, some stabil, and a large plastic tub that they can all sit in together. 15 extra emergency gallons if needed.

Yeah, that's pretty much what i'm leaning towards. I found this which I think would hold 3 or 4 cans nicely. And other things when i don't need the extra fuel.
