Dashboard Fuel Gauge Incorrect.

2025 RAM 1500, 33 gallon tank. Miles to empty 73, gauge say 1/4 to empty......fill with gas only takes 20.5 gallons. The tank size is correct the gauge and dash to empty is not. What is the fix? Re-progam the dash and/or replace the sending unit in the tank? One or both?

Is the fuel gauge incorrect? Or is it the calculated miles to empty? It's a little confusing by why you said. If the gauge is wrong, you probably need the dealer to look at. It's possible you didn't get a 33 gallon tank if it is only filling up to 20.5 gallons. It's happened in the past. But if it is just the calculation, then it might resolve itself after sometime, but there is no programming to do unless they didn't set it to 33 gallons.

have your window sticker handy and try to get your build sheet from your dealer.
