I am not really a fan of the 12.1 Uconnect 4. I mean, it is ok to have a split screen when using iPhone navigation and listening to XM, but honestly I really don't like it that much. I just purchased the 2021 I have, I am on the trail for the Uconnect stuff and haven't really found any of the apps worth paying for once the trial is over. So, has anyone ditched the UConnect 4? I am looking for options. I had a stinger in the Jeep I traded in, they don't have a complete package for the 2021 yet, not sure if the one for the 2019 would fit or not. Anyway, looking to upgrade the system, the stock nav is worthless, don't like it and don't really want to pay to update it if I use my iPhone.

Some upgrade to Uconnect 5 and screen/hardware. 19-21 should be same with Uconnect4, 22 up has the 5
I thought about it, but if I am going to pay that much to go to a UConnect 5, why would I? It is basically the same as what I have right? So might as well look at alternatives. I have learned my lesson so far with stereo's. In the last few vehicles I have had, I started with speakers and then amps and ended up with an aftermarket head unit anyway. I thought I might try something new this time as I am not really a big fan of the huge 12.1" screen.

I love the 12" myself. I couldn't really tell you the difference from 4 to 5. I haven't looked into it. I will be adding a sub and amp. Trying to stay away from speaker upgrades as I did my last Grand Cherokee. That's a rabbit hole I don't wanna go down. I will be swapping the dash speakers and go from there. They made a big difference because of how flat the OEM stereo sounds to me.

I will probably just end up keeping the radio and finding alternatives to upgrade the sound by adding amps/subs/speakers. I looked at the Phoenix Audio, but it has issues that I also had previously with the Android OS, similar issues as I had when I installed a T-Style system in my Chevy.

Yeah they look cool and all, but seen too many complain, so sticking with OEM and if anything upgrade everything after. See how the subs and dash speakers go first before I run down that hole again. I have the HK system.
