Unless I clear the data from Android Auto app everytime I have to use it. I have no way to control radio volume by using the volume knob. Volume stays where it is when I plug the phone into the usb or gets lower. Then when I go to use maps. There are no voice directions, in maps when plugged into my 2020 ram with uconnect 4c. Waze or Google maps. No notification sounds letting me know there are text messages. Worked fine till last android auto update. using a note10+. I tried different cables, cleared the phone and U connect. reset u connect. Only clearing Android auto data before I plug in allows it to work properly. Anyone else have this happen in the last 2 weeks?

Try turning up the volume when the navigation is actively giving directions. It's the only way I have found to turn it up and down separate from the radio.

That's not the problem even the radio volume will not adjust, when I plug it in since the Google update. I know about turning the volume up or down when it starts giving directions. The problem is UNLESS I delete the data from the android auto app on my phone. Settings>apps>android auto>Storage>clear data or cache. Clearing only the cache doesn't fix it. Only clearing the data.

Everytime I plug it in. There is no way to increase or decrease the radio volume. I'm sure it has to do with the update from Google and not Uconnect, cables or USB hub. Because if I connect into my friends Ram it does the samething.

I have been having the same issues as you are describing. What seems to temporarily fix the issue is activating "Okay Google" then cancelling it. It will return the radio volume back to normal, but as soon as I get a navigation prompt, the volume gets ducked again and then gets stuck. I also do not hear turn-by-turn navigation when this is happening.

Another temporary fix that I have gotten to work is having Spotify, YouTube Music, or some kind Android Auto app running first, then initiating Google maps while the music is playing. This makes everything work like normal, but as soon as I change over from Spotify to my stereo while Google navigation is running the issue immediately comes back.

The issues is also consistent with Waze as well. I also think this has to be an Android Auto issue and not Uconnect. This started happening since my phone updated last week. I wonder if uninstalling updates on Android Auto would fix it. This might be the next thing I try. I have also cleared the cache but that didn't do anything. I am afraid of clearing my data as I don't want it to delete my data from my apps in Android Auto.

Let us know if you have found any fixes that permanently work.

So I been playing around with it and tried the ok Google but it didn't work. But if I start with my source in a USB mode, and then start Android auto. Navigation started then Switch to sirus radio it seems to be ok. Then today that didn't work, and I had to go delete data from Android Auto.
The only thing I find that happens when deleting the data. It says on the u connect screen. Go to phone which has a button to press. That takes you to Android auto permission to turn on. Then everything is still there. You might have to switch to Waze from Google maps. I don't use Spotify. But nothing changes in my sirus app or my waze app with saved preferences or places I go.
I tried deleting Android auto and reinstalling. Also Waze and Google maps. It didn't make a difference. By doing that I lost everything saved. So for now just deleting data in Android auto seems to be what works for me. It only takes a minute or two. To reset everything back to normal. But still what a PITA dealing with this crap.

Oh my God I thought I was the only one. I have the exact same problem.

Android Auto calls this audio focus, where the volume ducks for a notification. It seems like audio focus get stuck on something. So when you adjust the volume you are adjust the notification sound volume, NOT the radio volume. Activating Google assistant and canceling it removes the audio focus and I can then adjust radio volume. Started about 2 weeks ago. I have tried it all with no luck.

I have reset.android Auto data and cache, Google maps data and cache. I have forgotten all devices within unconnect. I restored default in uconnect. I have disconnected neg terminal on battery for 20 min no luck.

I have tried two separate Android phones, s24 and fold 7. Both worked fine prior and now both have the same issue...

The most annoying part of all of this, I have no issues on my wife's kia....so I think it is a dodge issue, but I have no way to convince anyone of this, hell I am 100% sure either.

Very interesting that it happens in your friends truck. I wonder if it happens for car play people?

It does NOT happen in my wife kia with Android Auto.

Android forums and Samsung forums say that the Z-fold, S21and S25 are having really bad connection problems. Especially wireless connecting, and the volume problem. Now last night I got another android auto update. Second one in a week.
I don't want to jinx myself, but so far since this morning. I have not had to clear my data. Both the radio volume and navigation volume are working. All my notifications and directions are working. I have been using it since 8:30am. Just got home, and had the car turned on and off 5 times through the day. Got to go back out in an hour. But that don't mean tomorrow it will work. So I really can't be sure it's been fixed. I will keep you advised. Again I'm still using a Note 10+ so if you have a newer phone. This update might not help.

I just checked and I have an update as well. I will test it tomorrow.

I just got to where I was going and it worked on the way here. I'll see if it works when I leave. Then hopefully tomorrow and I will feel hopeful it's fixed.

I had a similar problem but switching to Media (Sirius in my case) allows me to change that volume. Then I just go back to Android Auto.

By this I mean I actually push the icons on the bottom of the screen.
