I have a 2025 Ram that when coming to a stop, and the Auto Start Stop activates, and then try to drive, it shuts everything down and the truck has to be restarted. Have had it into the shop once and they thought it was the battery switch, which they changed, and it is still happening. Anyone have experience with this?

Mine is a '23, but I'm not a fan of auto stop/start. I turn it off every time I start the truck.

If it's causing you problems, turn it off. If you want to use it, maybe take it in for service and/or give it a month or two. I know many of the '25 have been having weird problems.

I have 2025 Rebel and mine did that on 1st drive home after picking it up. Dealer ended replacing BOTH batteries. Been fine since December.

Thank you for that information. I'll inquire about that the next time I take it in.

The first thing I put in my 24 rebel gt was the auto stop eliminator. Start stop sucks. If only I could find a way to do the same with mds.

I have a 2023 Limited and agree with rick619. I turn it off every time I’m in the truck in addition to the MDS.

For MDS I just ordered the Pulsar XT from Edge Products. https://www.edgeproducts.com/products/in-line_chips_and_modules/pulsar_xt/parts/32456
It does several things including shutting off MDS and Start Stop. I already had the start stop eliminator so if anyone wants a used one for a good price let me know!

I looked into that, but it isn’t compatible with trucks that have paddle shifters, so I’m out of luck.

Well that sucks. Do you know how to turn it off each time you drive? With mine, a 22 big horn with e-torqe 5.7, when I shift to drive I push down one of the gear limiter paddle on the steering wheel, then push up to 8. That turns off each time I drive, but has to be done every time you go from park or reverse to drive. This video does not directly apply to your truck but may give some guidance. Good luck. My opinion is MDS sucks and leads to lifter damage.

I was able to do it that way with my 18 sport. With my 12 sport I had a console shifter that did the same thing but you just bumped it up with the shifter. The gt has a console shifter but it doesn’t work that way. Nether do the paddle shifters. They only support manual shifting. The only fix I have is to either just manually shift all the time or use tow/haul mode. I’ve been using tow/haul, which is a nuisance, but the slight delay in downshifts makes it sound much more aggressive coming to a stop, which I kind of like. Still….i hope a solution is found. There is a guy on the forum who tried the pulsar xt on his gt and it didn’t work.

All the effort we have to go through just to keep 8 out of 8 cylinders active, and hopefully extend out trucks longevity!
