Loud squeal/whining from speakers over 80mph in 2019 with alpine

I bought my truck preowned about two years ago. This is been driving me absolutely insane. When I reach speeds of over 80 mph there’s a loud, reproduce, and distinct squealing/whining noise from the front left dash speaker. I’ve discussed with a couple ram dealers and they look at me like I’m crazy. This is unlike anything I’ve experienced before

A couple things I’ve done…. I’ve replaced the dash speakers which I know are the ”dumb” end of the system. I’ve also installed a noise canceling bypass, as I thought this might be caused by the noise canceling system. Nothing has worked and as much as I love my truck, I’m seriously considering pointing ways with it because I can’t drive a highway speed without an obnoxious squealing noise in the cabin

Is anyone else experiencing this? Any ideas? It’s strange that it’s just coming from the one speaker at high speeds. I also replaced the door trim and tighten things up to make sure there wasn’t a ton of air making its way through causing this. Again, I know it was probably a stupid idea but I’m running low on options here.

You must live out West somewhere as no one East of the Mississippi has the luxury of cruising over 80, at least not for long. You need to tell us the model and year but I am going to assume it's a 21 eTorque.

You've done all of the right things. All ANC systems cancel low frequency, not high, but it is possible that the ANC was causing a problem but you eliminated that.

I would try pulling some fuses. First for the ANC, then for the radio and AMP(s). I am not familiar with the RAM HiFi system but there are probably a couple of different circuits involved. Make sure that it really is the speaker and not a ventriloquist wind noise. If it really is the speaker then some high frequency interference current is getting on the line. I have no idea what would cause that and why it would only show up at speeds over 80. If it truly is the speaker an inline diode might help.

Just curious, a known issue with the Grand Cherokee was the windshield cowl after a certain speed howling. Look at the rubber on your cowl and see. Easy way, tape it down with electric tape and take a drive. Pic for reference

Haha I live in PA. Sometimes drive on the interstate. It’s a 2019 5.7 without E torque.

I like the idea of pulling in fuses, didn’t think of that. It sounds so much like a speaker, but pulling the fuse will definitely point me in the right direction. It does seem to happen more under a wind, gust, but I would swear to you it sounds like it’s coming right from the speaker. It does still happen with the radio off though. I’ll give it a shot and report back

Really appreciate your reply!

Well, this also happens with the radio turned off even though it really sounds like it’s coming from the speaker. I’m going to take a look, but I have a chance and I’ll report back. I’m also going to pull a couple fuses. Obviously not all at the same time because I want to see what’s causing it 😂

Thank you for the reply
