I have a 2021 Ram Limited with a Smartcap. Going to be going on a 8 hour trip with my dogs. Dogs will be in the bed of the truck and I need some ideas on how to keep them cool. I bought one of those inflatable doughnuts that go between the cab and cap and wonder if running the ac in the cab would cool down things in the bed? I bought one of those so called ac units that are basically just a fan with water added. Tried it out in the house and it really didn’t cool and looks like it would create a big mess in the back of the tuck. Saw some true 12 volt ac units on the internet but don’t really want to spend $500.00. Anyone have any ideas.

So no sliding window in the rear of the cab? A/c on, cap window open, maybe a little foam tape to seal between the openings, should be comfy enough for pups
