21 Hemi E Torque.. I noticed a lot of fluctuation on voltmeter awhile back.. Dealer said ..no CEL, no problem.. few weeks later, dead battery... change battery, still fluctuating occassionally, but increased over time.. now starts at 13.6 volts cold and after 20 minutes drops to 12.4 volts.. Dealer says its Generator failing.. but they already have 3 others ahead of me on backorder.. could be months to get mine!! I am at only 21,000 miles. Then they say not warrenty.. Til I showed them my warrenty that clearly states 8 year FEDERAL Emission warranty for entire ETORQUE system.. They backed down.. 3 months or more without a truck is beyond ridiculous and refuse me a loaner.. There wont ever be another E Torque in my garage .

I don't blame you for avoiding et on your next truck, I sometimes think mine is just a ticking timebomb. Maybe if you press them about the misdiagnosis the first time, they will relent on the loaner?

I have eTorque too, but a friend of mine just traded his ‘21 1500 eTorque with over 180,000 miles. In fact I had talked to him right before I factory ordered my ‘22 and he liked the eTorque. I had the option to go with or without. ‘23 & ‘24 were all eTorque.
So I feel your disappointment and just hope I can get to 180k miles too. Just sucks that there is so much of a waiting time to replace it.

And I thought I was laying on the miles with my 2019 eTorque at 154,000 miles.

Other than the bad bearings, I like the eTorque.

I'm looking forward to the Ramcharger because the torque with an electric motor and gas-powered generator to feed the motor, sounds like it's going to be incredible.

Coming from a 4XE Wrangler, hoping to be in a Ramcharger by now... I miss the instant torque, and the max regen semi-one pedal driving... my SST can get up and go but it's not telepathic as I think about dropping my foot on the pedal like the 4XE was. On the flip side, the Ramcharger not having to manipulate a pair of multiplate clutches means no more going to 4Lo to be able to do a controlled reverse to hook up a trailer, if Stelantis doesn't screw up the mapping it should have way better low speed manors than the 4XE where I longed for a torque converter. But... the Ramcharger is way late and I couldn't wait so... SST it is.

I almost caved and got the etorque just due to the fact that it was so hard to find a rebel without it. Or any ram for that matter. My checklist for a work truck was a ram rebel with the bigger screen, pano sunroof, no etorque, crew cab, under 50k miles, single owner, excellent service history, and most importantly.... not a Canadian import! Talk about a needle in a haystack! Even with all those stipulations... within weeks of owning the unicorn I searched so desperately for... its in the service department getting exhaust manifolds, cam and lifters. It's just part of vehicle ownership... you win some, you lose some. Im sure it will all work out for you, man. Good luck with it.

I had read on forums that the start stop feature was hell on the eTorque motor. Although you can turn that feature off, you have to do it with every start , which most people forget to do. I purchased a module for $100.00 that permanently disables the start stop. I hope this will help avoid eTorque issues.

Can you give examples of those posts, please?

I did the same 🤞

It was a little while ago and I believe it was on the Dodge Ram Forum. This is the reason given; The eTorque trucks have a starter like all vehicles that start it from a cold start. However, once moving, the eTorque motor is what performs the re-starts on stop - start. For an average driver that is a lot of daily engagement. Eliminating that should preserve the life of the eTorque motor. Hopefully that will pan out.
