I see on the parts diagram we have multiple rubber items on top and probably underneath.
Should I reuse what I have?
Any kit available?
Where does everyone go for oem parts?
After looking at the new ones it does come with the bottom seat part so I only need the tops.Moparpartsonline is where I get most of my parts, otherwise rockauto. As far as isolators it depends on how many miles you have IMO. If you’re less than 20,000 miles then I would just reuse the stock isolators. But if you’re over, it couldn’t hurt to replace them since the cost is really minimal in the long run. Just make sure you take note of your current isolators orientation before you pull them out so you know how to put the new ones back in.
Yea, with that mileage id replace them. After looking at the new ones it does come with the bottom seat part so I only need the tops.
I'm assuming universal ones on Amazon are a bad idea.
My truck is a 2020 with 64k so I probably need to get new ones.
Thank you the advice its much appreciated
I will tomorrow when I have better lighting.Yea, with that mileage id replace them.
If you don’t mind… Could you take a picture of your rear spring upper isolators in their current stock position? I didn’t do this before replacing mine and I’ve always been a little curious what the actual OEM orientation is
I’m neurotic about rust on the undercarriage of any of my vehicles. So before you go trouncing around in the snow or salty roads, I would get underneath of the truck and spray any rust you can find with a rust converter. And then go back to the next day and hit it with Black Spray paint.I will tomorrow when I have better lighting.
Anything else I might need during this job?
I'm going on a snow mission to see the lake effect snow anything.
Any maintenance recommendations could be life saving. Thank you
Ty! There is a notch on the upper isolator where the top of the spring sits. Its hard to see in the pics, i saw in a video that it was facing towards the rear of the truck, so thats where I stuck mine. Curious if yours are the same. This is a screen shot from a video where the fellas is pointing to what im talking about.Recommendation on rust products. I've not found one with good results, but I've not used many though.
I was planning to spray fluid film before I left. I grew up in the Pocono's so I'm very familiar with how rust eating cars.
I took some pics, but they aren't very good. I take more when I'm in the garage
