I think I've asked this before, but it was asked in a different way. So, now I'll ask this way!

Has anyone that's gotten the Forward Collision Service needed message been able to clear it, or disable the screen alerts, with AlfaOBD? I reached out to Alfa and they couldn't answer the question. I've read on this forum that people have added the option and activated it with AlfaOBD, but nobody has ever mentioned clearing this dash alert, or fully disabling the option to clear the alert. Before I buy AlfaOBD, or take my truck in for service, I'd like to know an answer. Thanks.

You can clear it by getting the underlining issue fixed. You could use AlfaOBD to disable the system, but you will lose everything that it does like ACC or auto dimming headlights or LKAS if equipped. Even then, not sure if it will go away if the actual problem isn't fixed.

I don't have ACC or auto dimming headlights. Why would those features be tied together?

As far as I know, the FCW system notifies you of an obstruction and alerts to brake, or if turned on, will auto brake. The issue started after an alignment. The dealer performed the alignment, but wants to charge $200 to diagnose an auto braking failure that I don't use anyway. All other functions are working correctly, but I have two orange dash lights stating the system is off and needs service.

FCW service and FCW turned off are two well known issues with Chrysler products. There are NHTSA TSBs for the Ram Promaster and Jeep products. I've seen Challenger and Charger TSBs that address this, but nothing for the '21 Ram pickup.

The FCW, ACC, LKAS and auto dim head lights are all controlled by the DASM in the windshield. Doesn't matter if you have them "enabled" or not, they are there. That module does it. You could probably remove it and then go in with AlfaODB and change all the settings listed in the how to on adding ACC and those other features to your truck. It should work fine. If the alignment did it, then they should fix it. They may need to do a realign of the DASM. Possible they need to reset the steering sensor back to zero and they didn't do it.
