Been thinking I’ve had an exhaust manifold leak for a while and finally brought it in to a local reputable exhaust shop (called the dealership and I’m out of the 5yr/60k power terrain warranty).

They said they detected leaks from both driver and passenger side (heavier on passenger side) and that the manifolds are probably cracked but don’t know for sure until they pull the heat shields off and then they can see if bolts are broken as well.

This is the quote they gave me. How does it look? This is not something that is within my wheelhouse to do (don’t have the tools, space, or time).

I’ve seen people also saying to get headers or long tubes while they’re at it, but not sure exactly what that is or does?

Thanks in advance.

Honestly, I think it is fair. Their estimating about 4 to 5 hours of labor. Besides the price, make sure you have good history and faith in the shop. A snapped manifold bolt and that quote looks like a steal instead of laying on your back under the truck and dealing with it yourself.
Over the last couple years Ive tried to make an effort to pay for some of the work my vehicles need. Exhaust work is at the top of that list. My baseline has always been to do it myself.

Thanks for the reassurance. Yeah I’m sure with a few YouTube videos I’d be able to figure it out myself but extracting snapped bolts I do not want to do.

I’m going to get the BD Diesel kit to avoid this happening again with the Mopar manifolds and have them slap it on and just pay labor.
