Saturday I brought home my 2025 1500 Laramie. It has pretty much every option I could ask for. Night edition (or whatever it’s called) the group 2 tech package, bed package (corner step, adjustable tie down rail, spray in bed liner and the bed step), as well as the power retractable running boards (I’ve been wanting a truck with those ever since I had my 2011 F150). This truck is definitely the nicest vehicle I’ve ever had.

Two years ago I had purchased a 2023 Wrangler Sahara and quickly realized that I made a mistake. It was a ton of fun to drive but was so cramped and uncomfortable, especially since I have an 80 mile commute to work each way.

I made it just over a year before throwing in the flag. Last year I bought a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude X. I wanted a Limited but with the negative equity from the Wrangler and higher than desirable interest rates last year I settled for the Altitude X. It wasn’t as fun to drive but much more comfortable.

Fast forward to this year. I see that full size trucks are having some serious discounts and then I discovered the 1.9% for 72 months financing from Stellantis. So I decided to get back into a full size truck again. The Ram was the first choice (F150 would be my second choice and the rest of the options would all be tied for probably around 10th place….it was really either a Ram or F150 and second place was quite a bit behind).

The dealership that I bought from the last two years had basically my dream truck so I went for it. Saturday I made it mine.

Because the first time the wheel is removed with an impact w/ a regular socket and the paint on the lug nuts chip some Karen will throw a hissy fit. Better off from the factory w/ chrome lugs.

I was actually glad to see they aren’t painted because I bought locking lug nuts for the truck, and they don’t come painted. I was trying to find a good spray paint on Friday night because I thought I was going to have to paint the locking lug nuts…now I don’t have to deal with all that.

gm was onto something in the 90's when they had black covers that screwed on the lugs. they were plastic and from time to time fell off it not put on tight.
