2025 Ram 1500 . I can not get the Android Auto ( Google Maps or Waze) to voice directions while on a phone call. I paired the gfs phone and carplay did it. The onboard navigation does it ( although the clock is wrong)
I do have the voice over a call setting on in google maps or assistant. Can someone or anyone verify that this works in their truck? The dealer has no clue. I just want Google maps to talk to me while on the phone. My other vehicle does it ( 2025 Jeep Compass)
I have unpaired and repaired and have reset the "radio" in the vehicle. For bluetooth it shows " for calls only" but google maps works over spotify while listening. The phone will not let me put it to calls and audio. The only issue is if im on a call. Please help

I haven't had the chance to work with the 2025 RAM yet, but it's using the same Uconnect 5 module part number as the 2023. Do you have Wifi turned on your phone as well? These Uconnect 5's use bluetooth to initiate the pairing, but when you go to use Wireless CarPlay or Android Auto, it switches to Wifi for a better data connection than Bluetooth. I haven't seen this issue in the Uconnect 5 systems yet, but it almost sounds like it's connected via bluetooth, but somehow allows you to use google maps on the screen..? Or is this just on the phone only for the bluetooth audio stream of the maps during spotify playing?

It's all in the screen in the truck. I guess my wifi shuts off when not connected to a know wifi. Can I see the truck in wifi? I'll check after work . Hope that works 🙂

Oh so if you have the Sirius Guardian (Uconnect Services) there's a subscription for the Wifi Hotspot and you should be able to see a data connection, but that's not exactly what I'm referring to.

When we upgrade our customers from a Uconnect 4 to a Uconnect 5, they effectively lose those Uconnect Services (Uconnect 5's use a separate module for the Uconnect Online Services, while the Uconnect 4 had a 4G antenna plugged directly to the radio), so there is no internet going to the radio anymore. But the phone still pairs to the Uconnect 5 system for wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto with bluetooth and switches to Wifi because it's a stronger connection than bluetooth between devices, despite no actual internet coming into play. From personal experience, my Android just began having a Wifi failure, so I can do bluetooth just like you can, but when I try to do the Wireless Android Auto, it will never fully connect due to the Wifi card in my phone being torched. I'm just thinking that maybe if you turn on your Wifi, and use Google Maps through Android Auto, you will get the voice prompts from the navigation through your speakers (or make sure in the settings that is turned on for turn-by-turn). There's also multiple widgets, so you should be able to run Spotify in the background, and have the mapping maximized to biggest available screen (12" Units will be half screen, 8" units will generally be full screen)

Let me know what you find!
