Hello all!
I have a 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie with the active shutters. A month ago I drove through a large puddle and shortly after popped up the CEL. I did a scan and it showed U11E9 and P1D73. I cleared the codes but they reappeared every time the truck turned off.
I checked the F18/19 fuse but it appeared fine.
Question I have is, can I disable the shutter without physically removing the unit? I have a slight concern what position the shutters are in. It still cool here in Canada (Niagara area) so not expected any overheating.
Appreciate any insights.

Unplug the active air dam, clear the codes and see if they stay away.

I’ll give it a shot and report back
It should work. I've removed the active air dam on three different 5th gens. In every case I never saw a CEL.

Edit: Wait, the title of the thread is for active shutters, not active air dam. You will definitely get a CEL if you unplug the active shutter actuator. But apparently the codes are the same for active shutter and active air dam. Hopefully your issue is with the active air dam and not the active shutters.

Nobody said to unplug the shutters
