2025 Ram 1500 Current Owners - Discussion, Feedback, and Problems

I agree with Maddoggin. This engine has balls! I just drove 300 miles in the rain coming back home from a funeral. Make sure it's not in sport mode when you floor it in the rain! I was going 75 and floored it and it lost traction from the turbos kicking in. It's a BEAST ... and smooth as silk. I've also had a '14, '17, '19, '22, and my '25 Limited with very few minor issues!

In sport mode on highway stays in 7th gear till about 80 or 3000 rpms then shifts to 8th. Sport mode is fun but not for highway. Truck is fast but i must say i don't like turbo cars first one i owned. There is something about the hemi in light to light driving is better or stop and gp traffic thru neighbors. The truck is so slow until 3000 rpm to 5500. I don't like how hard to have to push it for light traffic i would love to know hp number when turbos aren't kicking in. I want 0 70 fast not 40 to 100 cause passing gear on highway truck is a rocket ship. The rebel 392 rear kick the little turbos to early they already kick early cause how tiny they are there is a turbo surge shutter what ever you wanna call it unless you are shifting above 3000 rpms wish i had 321 gears.2026 hemi here i come can't wait.

See, and I can’t see any reason to rocket from a standstill, like a light. It’s worse on gas mpg and (around here) most of the streets with lights are like 40mph or less. Additionally, I never got to my destination any real amount faster by racing from light to light 🤷🏻‍♂️.
It’s a truck, not a sports car. I’m good with that.

I agree i don't drive fast the truck is a dog in normal driving. Have about 900 pound in my bed plus 392 rear and big tires my over all mpg is 14,7 since new on trip b never touched. Trip a is oil changes on 2000 miles so far i am 14.4. I am just posting this cause i don't drive fast i have sport cars for that. I was just venting. First 6 cylinder i ever owned just not use to the higher rpm shifting needed to stay with traffic.

You must not have the HO engine -- it's quite different. It's much smoother in city than my hemi was. It you hit the gas hard in the hemi, it would sit there and wait a second and then downshift -- not smooth at all.

I never even tried using sport mode in my truck. I do consider myself a little bit of an aggressive driver though. Not so much punching it from a start but more like I'm not so happy being stuck behind slow drivers. I do have a sports car for the warmer months that I like to have a little fun in.

the sst is way faster from 0 to 60 than the hemi. theres tons of videos on youtube with the sst turbo running 0 to 60 in 4.5 seconds . my hemi was never that fast, no matter how you look at it the sst turbo blows the hemi out of the water allday everyday! stock to stock that is! as it should by the way its a turbo so it should out do the hemi ! and im not sure what you mean in light traffic? i never have to push my truck its always pulling me lol, only thuing i hate is the governor kicks in at 104, cant wait till all the mods hit for this truck, theres a tune for this truck already that adds 100 hp to the turbos, im not ready to mess with that yet.

The truck is way faster for sure compared to the hemi quite smother all the way. Just don't like turbo engines how they deliver the power.

I use to hate turbos. And still do in some cars with small motors. Historically, turbos would have a lot of lag and the motor would have no power at all at lower rpm's. But many cars and trucks today you can't even notice the turbos. For me, the i6tt in my Laramie just feels like a big motor. Same can be said for my BMW x7 which also has an 3.0L i6tt.

UGH!! SO frustrating!!! The last update I got, the screen would freeze and a loud buzzing noise about 1 out of every 10 times I started the truck. I saw the update today and was super excited to get this installed figuring it would take care of this issue.

Now, EVERY FM and AM station doesn't work!!! Every time you click on a pre set FM or AM station it just goes into scan mode.
I might be late on this but I experienced a similar issue and had the radio replaced under warranty. This resolved the issue.

My vote goes for this being more of a ram issues rather than just your bad luck. My truck currently has about 550 miles on it, I have a list of issues that are wrong with it and that adds to a few that have already been "fixed." I've visited 3 different dealers, none of them seem to have a clue about these trucks or they simply do not care, whether that is because of the 2025 aspect or just typical for ram (I've never owned a CDJR product before) I have no idea. At this point I'm ok with these dealers having no clue, as I plan to drop it off at the most incompetent of the 3 and hope it takes them 19+ more days to fix and then I'll have my 30 days in to qualify for the lemon law in Wisconsin. Personally I think stellantis pushed these trucks out way before they should have, and I also think the techs are not and have not been trained sufficiently. I can find Ford and Chevy/GM dealer mechanics that know what they're doing without a problem, not the case with ram. I also have a few independent garages fairly local I've used for years that also have very knowledgeable techs, and these guys do not want to touch one of these trucks with a 10 foot pole, UNLESS it's something super simple, and then they still don't really want to. Maybe stellantis will get this figured out in a few years, but personally I do not see good things for stellantis in the future. Best of luck on your next vehicle purchase, if by chance this one doesn't work out.
I called Ram Customer Care and explained all the issues I have with my new 2025 Limited Laramie that has a little over 5000 miles and received a case reference number. It was taken to one of their approved dealers to fix the problems. It is now 3 weeks and I finally got a customer rep from Stellantis after several not nice conversations with the dealer and RAM Care. I told them what was needed to fix a lot of the problems after reading everyone's posts about similar problems. Will hopefully get everything fixed soon since I am having to rent a car at $400.00 per week from the start because the dealership doesn't have loaners. RAM Care rep said they will reimburse me for the car rental. At this point, I just want my new pickup back.

A "Limited Laramie"?

I sincerely wish you luck with the truck, it is a bummer to get a new vehicle and have immediate problems, and sometimes multiple problems. I still have mine, but will be taking it to a dealer with a list of problems. I don't drive it a lot (it currently has about 600 miles on it) because I do not trust it and some of the problems make it annoying to drive, but every time I do drive it it seems like I notice something else wrong, and no matter what it is most of the time I find other owners with the same issues. For example and this is just one of many, since I've had the truck it has always seemed to be a bit noisy on the inside, even compared to a 10 year old truck I have sitting around (chevy), the ram has this wind noise and/or road noise, coming from near the passenger side/firewall area. I've narrowed it down to more of a wind noise, to the point that it's noticeable to people I'm trying to talk to on the phone when driving. Sure enough, a quick internet search found people with some sort of issue with the way the firewall/or something was built, when they turn their climate control to recirc it apparently goes away or improves. I have not tried the recirc "fix" yet, but even if it changes/improves it should someone really need to do that? Much like people saying to turn the defroster off while going through a car wash to prevent water from getting to the cabin filter....really? People think that's ok? Ram can't do any better than that? Holy crap. Now, I am not saying I have water getting into my cabin filter, but I have done 1 car wash and the windshield fogged up on the inside a lot, the truck now smells a bit musty, but we think the head liner got wet as a friend of mine has an IR camera and a section of the headliner near the rear appeared to look much "colder" than the rest, which he swears is indicative of water/wet. So I think that's my musty smell, whether or not my cabin filter is also soaked (as I didn't turn off my defroster while going through the car wash) I really do not know and didn't check. Whichever lucky dealer I drop the truck off to can add that to the list of problems.

But as mentioned, good luck with your truck, and hopefully they don't need to take too much apart to fix whatever is wrong with it. For me, the "New" went away the moment the ram "parts swappers" that have no clue what they're doing other than scratching their heads and tossing parts at it hoping they get the right one started ripping apart my engine to "fix" stuff.

Yes new ones have a lot of problems and its sad cause they cost more now. Seems to be when they just can't replace a part and fix it the problems begin. So i am praying 2026 hemi no mds no e torque .2021 was the last good year

ALL,
Can we please keep the vitriol to a minimum? I’d really rather not unwatch this thread but all of this is too much.

Maybe create a thread dedicated to RAM dislike and discontent?

Let’s keep this thread a bit more friendly please.

No one likes opening up a notification just to face unrelenting venting, disappointment and lamentation.

Isn’t there enough going on in this country (USA) that maybe we can keep this thread as a safer haven?

Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

People state facts here, sometimes, the truth is hard to swallow.
