MDS was also because of emission's as well as e-torque. it's possible this nightmare is over.
dare to dream. i guess i'm old school. please give me a conventional NA motor. i did love my 2002 5.3 chevy 1500 that did 300k mi with only broken exhaust manifold bolt issues.

I’m shocked this isn’t a bigger deal here. I posted a few videos from TK’s Garage and seemed there was no interest.

This is big for all automakers and especially all consumers. Let the HP wars begin again. No more emission garbage on motors. Never thought I would see this in my lifetime.

Probably because they know it will be temporary and may only last as long as the next administration.

Most manufacturers have already said they likely won't build down since it will take them out of sync with the rest of the World in terms of technology they will need to sell globally, especially if it's back on 4-8 years from now.

Hopefully it will bring back some common sense stuff, like reducing the restrictions on light-duty diesel engines in HD trucks, extending timelines, etc. I don't expect manufacturers to give up their push towards zero emissions, just delay it a bit longer to a more common sense timeline instead of the arbitrary date they chosen.

Then you have CARB and the 14 other states that follow it. They make up 50% of all new vehicle sales, the manufacturers will build to them and pass it to the rest of the country. Trump hasn't mentioned fighting CARB since getting elected, since he probably knows it can take years to do it. But there is some cracks in the wall, since CARB has recently pulled back their large truck (commercial/semi trucking) emissions requirements knowing the Trump EPA won't allow it.

American's only make up 4.22 percent of the world population but we are ranked third in population behind China and India. unless those country's make changes nothing we do will make a real difference pollution wise. we can thank Nixon for the EPA he created the agency. EV's are not really sustainable they create more pollution to produce than they "save" most electricity is produced from burning coal they actually ROLL COAL they should only be a option like diesel not a mandate, just my 2 cents. if you want one buy one you should not be forced. no offence but come on ya can't get a new a gas powered weedwacker or lawnmower in komiefornia now that is just stupid. at this point the last thing we want to be is like cali.
the CAFE mpg mandates also killed small cheap cars and mini trucks due to a arbitrary numbers. was that really a good thing? we have been forced in being a truck/suv nation because manufactures have a easier time meeting the milage requirements with large vehicles. we really need to get rid of CAFE requirements and let the free market do it's thing.
we are hoping for at least 12 years JD is looking good to carry the torch.

CARB is the issue, I don't think it's great, but it's still there and it ain't going away anytime soon, the question is what manufacturers will build to and what they think the politics and policies will be in the future, they are not going to reset only to have to reset again.

I don't think JD is going to get the torch going, in fact we'll be lucky if we keep the majority 2 years from now.
