1500 5.7 V8 ETorque. 3.92 Rear Axel Ratio

I have a 2020 Ram 1500 5.7 V8 ETorque Engine with a 3.92 Rear Axel Ratio. I am looking to install a 1-3' coil over lift kit along with aggressive looking All Terrain Tires (Unsure of the size and brand)

. This truck is my daily driver, currently I am gettin 14-15 MPG. My Off-Road adventures are limited to camping trips and beach outings. The ultimate objective of this truck build is to achieve an aggressive stance, enhance ride quality, and maintain/minimize fuel economy loss. Hoping members of the forum have this set up and have some insights to share.

MPG was okay before. Now, it is meh. I didn't buy a truck and lift it with 35" tires for fuel savings.

Sorry my friend. Lifting(even leveling) and then larger wheels is going to destroy whatever lousy mileage you had on 3.92's. We don't buy full size trucks to get good mileage.

My fully stock rebel gets 13.5 mpg, it is all down hill, whatever mods you do.

I must be doing something wrong. My 2wd 2022 1500 with 5.7 MDS and 3.92's got 22 mpg before I leveled and added 35's, now I average 20 mpg.

Or you didn’t bother to correct the speedo and think you’re getting 20 miles to the gallon.

In this thread, I will be detailing the info regarding the tire choice, suspension choice, and trimming needed.

Note: My procedure involves irreversible modification to the truck, so consult a professional of your choice and proceed at your own risk. This thread is to SHARE HOW I DID mine and is published for informational purpose only, and is NOT a step-by-step guide. The forum (forum team, admins, and mods) and I are NOT responsible for what you decide to do. You are responsible for your actions should you choose to follow my method and screw up something.

Few notes:

1. Fox 2.5 has a better street manner than off the shelf Kings and Carli Kings due to the dual speed adjustability. Off pavement Thuren Kings are still the best. I went Fox 2.5 because at the time of ordering parts, anything with King label on it were all backordered with no solid ETA, and I only had 2 months after taking delivery of the truck to install everything to get it ready for Alaska 2023 (which ended up being postponed). Fox 2.5 was the only high-end performance option that was able to deliver within the time frame. If I was to do it now, with Kings production back to somewhat normal and no time crunch, Thuren would be my only choice.
2. You could go with Bilstein 5100, but they would be firmer on the street with no ride quality adjustment. You could go with Carli Commuter Package to save some coins and the head scratching of collecting all other parts, but you still will not have the ability to adjust your ride quality. All other options (RC, Icon, or god forbid... spacers) are no bueno in my book.
3. Instead of AT3W, go with AT4W because AT3W is discontinued and updated to AT4W. Alternatively, you can also go with Toyo RT Trail in the same size. Should you go with 35x12.5, you will also need at least -12mm or 4.5" backspacing to clear the UCA. I personally and professionally do not recommend wheel spacers.
4. Regarding mileage impact: Prior to all these (aka, when the truck was brand new bone stock), I was getting up to 18mpg on highway and 16MPG city. After everything, highway mileage was no change and city mileage wend down to 14-15, depending on how i drive. HOWEVER, the post modification mileage is calculated with about 600+lb of constant weight in the bed and about 200lb in the cab (excluding me), and I am running 12ply (F-load) tires, which is heavier than the typical tires that people run (usually people run E-load, 10ply)
5. This setup is for trails, camping, overlanding, daily driving, etc. I just completed a 15k miles round trip to Alaska (made it all the way to Coldfoot, AK) and Arctic Ocean in Canada last year. Went through millions of potholes doing speed that others couldn't, and NOTHING broke. I tested everything out already and they all work. It's a proven setup.
