I bought a 21 Laramie from the dealership a few years back and on Friday it started having electric issues. Check engine light came on said service shifter and tire monitoring system. I went out and when I tried to get back in my truck after my errands the key fobs wouldn’t work and the truck wouldn’t start. Had it towed to the dealership and they said the three year basic warranty was up and repairs wouldn’t cover. Truck has 49k miles! I’d expect more out of a $70,000 truck. Turns out it’s a receiver reader module. The estimate for repairs is $1300. Nonetheless I’m getting it repaired and I am taking my reliable 2005 Chevy with 175,000 miles to pick up my “new” Ram 1500. Smh disappointed is an understatement

Turns out it’s a receiver reader module.
Is this another name for the RF module? If it is, know that most if not all of these fail due to water intrusion through the back glass or CHMSL. Just alerting you.

I have noticed that when I was my truck there are a few drops of water on the inside of the rear glass. Is there a fix to it?

If the dealer can associate the RF hub failure to water intrusion, then you may want to consider using your auto insurance to cover it. That's what I did and it carried a $100 deductible. Way cheaper than $1300. And you will need to replace the back glass OR some have used some kind of flowing sealant to seal the leaks. I personally had Safelite do a rear glass replacement. Its a long story but the insurance money I got was enough to cover the rear window replacement.

I had similar issues and then some. This thread has a fix that worked for me.
