Brand new 2025 Ram 1500 Limited with just about all the options, including heated/vented rear seat. The heat/vent works on the rear seats. There is a dead ended wiring harness next to the connected harness that goes from the passenger side body into the seat. Anyone know what it is for? I'm guessing perhaps for the 2Kw inverter On Board Power option that never became a real option?

Thanks!

What stereo/speaker set up do you have?

19-Speaker Harman Kardon® Premium Sound

Perhaps the same wiring harness is used on the Tungstens, and thats for a sub woofer????

Im kinda hoping it is for the 2KW Inverter option that isnt available, so perhaps one day we can add it.

I would think you'd need heavier guage wire for an inverter. Not sure what subwoofer the Tungsten has that your HK system wouldnt. But, that's kind of where I was going if you only had the Alpine.

I am thinking these could be "control wiring" that turns it on/off/senses battery voltage/reports to the CANBUS system. They are far from 2/0 Battery feed cable that would right sized to feed a 2000 watts inverter.

he has a loaded limited it should already have a Sub woofer would be interesting to know though I will run out and look at mine and see if I have it too.

UPDATE, I just looked at my Limited with most every option and I have no plug like that under my pass side rear seat. I do have one under the drivers side rear seat but looks nothing like that one above.

This plug is next to the rear passenger seat "outboard" hinge

I have a harness there. but it's on the inside of the outboard hinge and it's plugged into a wire that goes to the back of the cab wall.
I wonder do you have the towing package? if not, it could go to the towing module mounted on the back panel that you don't have possibly?

I do have all the towing package options, minus the Trailer Wiring Camera Prep package, yet I have the 12/1 trailer connections on my bumper. Which is my next new post......

I'm at a loss then this is very weird. my truck has every option available except the power inverter, exterior color matching crud and blackout and the towing tech package and towing mirrors other than those items mine has everything else available on a limited. mine is however a 6 foot 4 bed and no Ram boxes because I don't like them.

Mine 25 limited, 6-4 multifunction bed, 14.4 screen, pano, trailer brake controller, bed utility, towing tech, limited A, Trailer tow group, Off road, electronic rear axle, bed, tow mirrors, etc. Built 12/12/24

My truck has everything but the 2KW inverter (only was supposed to be available with the 5-4 Ramboxes, but that never happened for anyone, so that makes total sense option wise) the Trailer Wiring Camera Prep package,

Interesting note, I do have a red 10 amp fuse in the F62 position in the fusebox under the hood, that is for "Trailer Camera" if equipped... This is my next research project. I do have the 12/1 camera plugs on the bumper.

man, your is almost identically optioned, my truck was built just before Labor Day I ordered it special from the factory in January and was delivered oct 2 I'm going to look again at my truck when I get back out to it. it needs a bath anyway to much salt on the roads here right now.

Some better pics.

pics H1 and H5 are of the mystery harness plug. It is located on the passenger side rear wall of the cab, behind the seat, just inside of the seat hinge.
H2 is a different harness that comes out of the floor, and goes into the seat back.
H3 is a "jumper" harness that goes from the seat back to seat bottom.

my rear seat functions work, (heat/vent) so Im pretty sure the mystery harness has nothing to do with rear seat functions.

there is a user here named Jimmy07, I think he may be a Ram tech, and he possibly could shed some light on this harness. he answers a lot of off the wall questions about Ram trucks with solid Information.
