Battery change 2020 1500 5.7 etorque

It’s time to change the battery in my truck after 4 plus years and 45k miles. Is there any way, or tips, to minimize error messages, CELs, or other glitches that I have read occur as the Hal 9000 reboots itself after the change? Thanks in advance.

When changing your truck's battery, you can avoid most glitches by using a memory saver to keep the electronics powered during the swap. Disconnect the negative terminal first, replace the battery, and reconnect it last. After the change, the truck might need a little time to recalibrate things like idle or sensors, which is normal. If you see a check engine light, it’s usually temporary and should clear on its own.

I used a set of jumper cables connected to one of the B+studs in the fuse box and the engine block to keep the memory alive. But a caution: your battery cable ends will be live, so do not accidentally touch the positive to ground.

As far as the truck was concerned, it never lost power. Radio stations, clock, all the computers were completely unaffected.

I never bothered with any sort of memory saver when disconnecting the battery, unless I was trouble shooting something.
A small inconvenience for loosing the settings while the truck gets to re-learn shift points.

Disconnecting the battery and reconnecting will cause some systems to reset. If you want to let the systems re-initialize and not deal with anything do this:

1. Do the swap outside with visibility to the sky. After reconnecting the battery, just leave the truck alone for about an hour. Don't even open the door.
2. After an hour all your systems should be initialized and back to normal. You will lose some settings but most will be as they were before you started. When disconnecting the battery I always lose my theme setting but that's about it.

Yes but not whith all the boosters .... must be a booster whith charging option (not only booster)

It's better to connect to a fuse block stud and an engine ground. That way the cables are away from where you're working and you're less likely to brush them off accidentally.

I have done two batteries on mine. I wouldn't bother with trying to avoid losing power. The vehicle will recover just fine if you do it the way I said.

I put in the larger battery 4 yrs ago, and will replace again this spring. I didn't do anything special the 1st time.
Unhooked it in the store parking lot, bought the new and exchanged the old.
Installed the new, started up and went home.
No issues.

Yes, the tires are nice but they need to be inflated to 3 Atm and comfort is affected

While visiting and driving in Italy I was sure there was no way I could drive my RAM on the Italian roads. Especially in the city. I saw no US made pick-up trucks on the road whatsoever. And I was looking. Am I off-base here?

I changed my battery in the autoparts store parking lot myself, since they were not allowed to do it because they did not want to be blamed for the electronics resetting and needing some time to come back completely.

Changing the battery worked fine, and I could drive the truck, but it took a few hours for all of the electronic functionality to come back.

You are right !
Pickups (although smaller in size than in the US) they are not widespread and they are 3/4 for work and 1/4 for private use.
a ram in the city is demanding and parking is almost impossible, on suburban and extra-urban roads you see many more but very few "made in usa".
What the majority of Italians do not accept is that a pick-up EVEN for a private individual is an "intelligent" vehicle with which you can do everything.
The consequence is that the owners of these vehicles are not well liked..... I say to myself : "patience"!!
