I live in Upstate New York and we have had some very frigid temperatures lately. Had the truck for 2 years now and I noticed on cold starts, loud ticking, exhaust leaking into the cabin, and exhaust sounding differently - all on the passenger side - but goes away when warmed up.

My question is #1, should I pull the trigger now at 65k miles and go OEM exhaist man again? Or #2, is there an aftermarket fix so I don't have to keep replacing these? Thanks!

Check the flange bolts between the y pipe and the intermediate pipe going to the muffler first (passenger side). The bolts rot or and break off causing a leak.

OEM has had several revisions yet they still seem to eventually crack at the manifolds themselves or the bolts break. Id give the BD a try I have yet to hear anybody having issues with them, Ive used them on my 4th Gen and they were fine up until i traded the truck in.

I'm going to check that first thing tomorrow. I actually saw the exhaust near the y pipe and just assumed it was the exhaust manifold issue. I've already replaced the gasket on the drivers side y pipe about a year ago when I cold started the truck and sounded like it had open headers lol thank you!!

I'll check these out, thank you!

My '20 has the same issue on Long Island, I have the extended warranty so letting dealer fix it. Just to let you know the OEM manifold just came in and have been waiting since Thanksgiving for it. So definitely if no warranty I wouldn't use OEM.
