Battery Change: Optima Yellow Top AGM or Not?

Johnson Controls makes Interstate and Everstart; they manufacture about 2/3s of the batteries sold in the US. East Penn makes Deka and makes up the balance.
I know. The person I was replying to made a comment about getting battery straight from manufacturer, while also saying he uses Interstate batteries

Interstate sources batteries from more than just Johnson Controls, depending on the size/application.

I know power sports and garden tractor types are sourced from other manufacturers, but I thought the thread's context was automotive batteries.

I'm still on my OEM battery in my 2019.

Now that I rarely drive it, it's on the battery tender a day every other week.

I'll do the H8 at Walmart when it finally dies, that seems to be the best deal.
Well, my original battery bit the dust.

I've only been driving the Ram every few weeks so I put the battery tender on every now and then. Put it on a few days ago and it was green pretty quickly, opened the door tonight and the power boards were very slow to deploy.

Battery was just over 10v and the wife uses the truck while I'm gone, so the H8 AGM from Walmart for $192 out the door did the trick!

Over 6 years on a battery isn't bad.

lol i'm such a fan of my walmart platinum AGM that when i traded my truck in i made them take the battery out and put it in the truck i bought.
