Just wanted to create a thread on tuning options for the 2025 I6. I have talked with JB4 directly and they tell me their tuner will work on the new I6 and should yield around 104 HP. They are basing this off of a dyno test with a Jeep Wagoneer with the HO I6. When I asked them if anyone has actually put this on a 2025 Ram 1500 with the I6 and they told me yes, they have had lot's of orders. They also told me they hope to get one on their dyno soon for testing. I am kind of hesitant to install one without some real world data. The JB4 is a piggy back tuner that sits inline with different sensors. So, hopefully it wouldn't be as harmful as an ECU flash tune can be if done wrong.

The main thing I want to change is the speed limiter. All that HP and Ram won't let you go beyond 104 mph. My HO I6 was just getting started when it shut off at 104! Frustrating!

I did find an RHO thread that talks about the JB4 but no one has actually installed one in the thread. Hurricane + JB4 Tuner

Here is the link to JB4's website. JB4 Tuner for 2025+ RAM 1500 3.0L I6 Hurricane Twin Turbo (BETA)

Hopefully someone on this forum has installed one and can give us some good feedback.

Top speed governor has little to do with power as you know. More to do with tire speed ratings and driveshaft rotation limits.

But yes I’ve raised mine (different truck, not a hurricane) to 120 with a driveshaft loop and confirmed tires support it.

Can’t wait for actual tuning for these, but until then a JB4 is the only piggyback tuner I’d even consider. Keep us posted!!

I removed the speed limiter on both my 2020 and 2022 with the Diablo tuner. I was able to get the 2022 up to 140 mph. The trucks come with H rated tires which are good for a "sustained" 130 mph. I think it's just bogus to limit the truck to 104 mph. Let the owner decide when to let off the gas!

Is the speed limiter tunable with AlfaOBD?

AlfaOBD doesn't work on the 2025. You need a security gateway module bypass which was changed on the 2025. I don’t think it exists anymore but Stelantis may have just changed the location and plug type. Here are the plugs under the steering column on the 2025.

Here is a detailed thread on why the AlfaOBD doesn't work on the 2025.

Oh rats, read that link, didn’t wanna go that fast anyhow!!!

Will this work for standard output as well?

Burger posted their first dyno run of the JB4 on a 2025 Ram 1500 with the SO Hurricane I6. Their graph shows a 77.2 HP gain and a 145.58 gain in torque. Not bad but not the 104 HP everyone was hoping for. Hopefully IGM Auto will post their dyno test next week of their RHO with the HO Hurricane.

Still very impressing! I'm excited to try it out.
I ordered mine on Thursday, it's supposed to arrive on Monday. Hopefully I will have time to get it installed on Monday.

Id be curious what the SAE numbers are, everyone uses STD to impress

Driving impressions so far?
It literally has been raining buckets since I finished the install. So, I haven't gotten to drive it and put it through its paces yet. I am hoping to get out this weekend and put it through it's paces. I will make a post with impressions at that point.
