Does anyone on here have any firsthand experience with the Ram 1500 thuren UCAs? I am looking at both the Carli and Thuren and know both are solid options.
I currently have a set of Zone UCAs but since I'm upgrading to Fox 2.5 DSCs, I figured it would be a good time to upgrade everything.

Would it really be an "upgrade" from the Zone UCAs?

Oh, I agree; Zone UCAs are super beefy! The question is, are they comparable or superior to Carli/Thuren in terms of built quality or comments used? Not all expensive parts are indeed better, but Carli/Thuren seem to invest far more time in R&D. Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking Zone UCAs! Many people utilize and love them, but I'm searching for “better” components to accompany my new setup.

I ended up ordering Thuren UCA because they integrated EMF ball joints (loved by the HD community) and honesty like the build design. After installation, I'll update my build thread to help others who might inquire about Thuran UCA in the future.

Can't go wrong either way, I've done a significant amount of 2500 stuff with both Sage Carli and Donny Thuren. Both produce some of the best suspension components on the market. I built a 2nd Gen 2500 that could pull a 12k toy hauler and pass anything going uphill while doing so, then air down the bags and run Sand Highway in Glamis at 55-60 mph without spilling my beer. Thuren did the front end, Carli did the rear. Kinda wish I still had that truck, but unfortunately like all Mopar products, the rest of the truck was falling apart around the mechanicals.

Having said that, I think you made the right choice. Both stand behind their products and provide great support, I'm just slightly more partial to Thuren's design approach.

I appreciate the comment! I'm honestly looking to make my 1500 acceptable(compared to my current configuration) for towing until an actual 5th HD RAM comes out.

It's unbelievable that you can't find any info on the Ram 1500 Thuren UCA. Once all the parts arrive, the plan is to write a decent writeup.

Current new build list is:

-Fox 2.5 performance elite front and rear
-Thuren UCA
-carli rebel springs
-carli sway bar links
-core 4x4 track rear arms
-timber grove +2” bags
-airlift onboard air

One thing very cool about the Thuren Front UCAs is that they were designed to clearance/work with big tires..even with factory +19mm offset..where as almost every other UCA needs 0/+1mm offset to clear at a minimum.
They put a lot of research and design into their UCAs.
I'm looking at the Thuren F-UCAs, and R-U/L UCAs and Track bar when I go to Fox 2.5 PEs.
The Rear bars will take the "preload" torsional resistance that the OEM bushings cause out of the equation..the Delrin lined Thuren joint have zero resistance forces..and the NVH is actually minimal, so no downside.

I set up a 2000 Camaro SS Convertible with a rear 12 bolt Strange axle (heavy weight) and used West Coast CUs and Track bars that used the same type joints as the Thurens and that car "almost" felt like a independent suspension afterwards..it was shocking!

I did try the same trick with a 2008 Mustang Shelby GT500 using Spohn UCs and Track bar, but their joints aren't quite the same as the Thurens and WCs, so the Mustang didn't quite get to the Camaro level.

Delrin style joints articulate very smoothly..and as long as you have really good (read..comfy) shocks/struts, as in the Fox PEs, and use a tire that is compliant, you'll be golden!!

My passion is suspension stuff..I've tried just about everything at one time or another on almost everything. Dialing on a perfect suspension is super satisfying!

When it comes time to replace the K02s I’m running right now I’m planning on moving up to 285/75/r18s on stock wheels so I’m definitely gonna go the Thuren route with the UCA. I want to keep the stock wheels and the Thurens seem like the best way to do that(I personally don’t want spacers). Planning on Thuren UCA, Bilstein 6112/5160 combo, and Carli sway bar end links. Depending on the stance that gets I might add the Carli Rebel Spring because I want to keep a little rake for towing. Definitely interested to see how the Thurens perform.

I like your plan..I think you'll be very happy with that combo!
Will be interested in feedback on how you like it👍

The Thuren UCA are beast!

Can't wait to hear your thoughts when installed and tested out!
The plan is to install everything next weekend. I'll test them in various scenarios, and the weekend after that, I'll be taking a trip with my trailer. I should be able to provide a decent amount of data/first-hand experience after that.

Just curious, did Thuren have the F&R CAs in stock or how long did it take from order to ship?

I ordered from CJC, and it took less than a week. At the time, they had the UCAs in stock, but I didn't notice they made rears until I went on Thurens' website.

Didn't get the track bar to go with the rear control arms?
