Good day, just picked up my new 2024 Sport, coming from a 2023 BTS. I didn't pop the hood until I got home but noticed the airbox had a lot of writing on it. The top is all X'd out and "350 SUB" is written on the front. Anyone ever seen anything like this?

That is super weird.

That is super weird.
Right? It's either really good or really bad! Dealership offered to replace the box, but maybe it's good as is. It honestly feels to be more powerful than the '23, both etorque and 3.31. This one is snapper, from seat feel.

That’s strange. Can’t believe the dealership never noticed that when prepping for sale and delivery.
Your not gonna get any noticeable power gain from the air box even if aftermarket. The stock one is more than adequate.

I would go ahead and check inside that airbox and make sure you got an air filter in there and nothing else funny.

The only reason I can think of someone doing that was maybe some sort of prototyping/engineering work, either for that truck or some sort of aftermarket parts dev/testing..

Either way, inspect inside that airbox, also check the intake tubing (for cracks or tears, especially on the back side you can't see, use a mirror) and that it's properly connected to the throttle body, that nothing is loose.

New to you or a brand new never titled truck? That air box did not come from the factory like that.
Brand new, never titled. I don’t believe the dealership did this. They have offered to replace the box etc. Everything is solid, connections etc. - it's just strange

Opps sorry, I missed the part where you said you picked up a new truck, just saw the 2023 BTS and assumed it was used.

Sounds even more like some sort of factory box used for testing or factory level analysis that somehow got past scrutiny. Either way, I would double check the air filter is in there and ask for a replacement, may not be up to spec in other ways you cannot see.

I would have the dealer replace it. I can't imagine someone at the factory writing on a component that meets or exceeds standards, but I can imagine a factory inspector marking up a defective component that failed to meet standards.
