To house the hidden key? But it's not that big. Guess it is subjective. I've got big hands and big pockets, so that's probably why it doesn't bother me.
I'd say it's maybe slightly above average as far as size goes. My daughter's Jeep fob is much larger, and my Audi fob is a little bit smaller. I'm just glad it doesn't have a key protruding out of it like our F150 has...

I was all set to buy the AJT until I read on here that you needed to remove the chip from your factory fob, basically destroying it, to make it work if the fob battery went dead.Products | ajt-design

Love my AJT case. It's lighter and just a little smaller thann the factory fobik. There are a couple things you need to know for it that aren't covered by any instructions or install videoProducts | ajt-design

That style fob would annoy me.Ram OEM fob looks like a pregnant whale next to my Mazda Fob. Then again, the truck is a pregnant whale next to my mazda

Ill bite - how would it annoy you ?
Its a proximity fob just like the rams. it doesnt need to come out of your pocket or wallet.
If I carried it in my front pocket, it would feel bigger than the RAM fob because of its credit card shape. Sitting down and it ends up in the crease and you'd have to adjust. I carry my Ram fob on my belt loop.

Hmmm.......... have not had a problem in the last 10 years. It gets lost in my pockets. The Ram fob however, i do have to adjust !
The RFID chip is glued into the factory fobs. I tried like hell to get it out without having to cut anything. Didn't work

I find it hilarious that my slightly bigger iPhone Mini has 4,000 songs, 400 videos and over 10,000 pictures in it’s memory with plenty to spare plus functions as a phone and high quality camera yet my huge Ram key fob only has to do a few very basic functions.
Might be time to hire some new engineers.

If your destroy the fob it's because you don't know what you are doing. It's extremely simple, I even have my old fob in case I want to go back (and I don't)Second pic down in first post. Mine wasn't glued in when I removed the cup to move it over. Maybe they stopped using gorilla glue to keep a small chip in?
I dunno, mine was glued in. checked both fobs The aftermarket fob I bought wasn't glued in, but didn't know what that piece actually was at the time so threw it away.
