So currently I have 305/45/22 Nitto Recon Grapplers, I’m happy with them as a tire and think they look great, but the more I see people running 285/55/22’s the more I feel like these 305/45’s look too small.

I have a Readylift 1.5” leveling kit for the front and I don’t think I’ll rub with a taller tire, at least not much. The 305/45 is 32.80 tall and the 285/55 is about 34.37 tall, so inch and a half and would only raise my clearance another 3/4” and I could still fit it in my garage ) I have about 2-3 inches currently, so that shouldn’t be an issue.

While I was on the subject of switch sizes, I was looking at the MT Baja Boss ATs and people had good things to say about them, they are a bit more expensive than the Nittos, but have the snow rating, which we don’t get a ton of snow in St. Louis, but we sometimes do. Also I’m not sure how they compare as far as smoothness, quietness, etc compared to the Nittos. I do mostly on road driving, with a tad bit of off-road, and tow something over 5,000lbs maybe 6-10 times a year.

Maybe I’m overthinking it, but any insight would be greatly appreciate.

I’ve looked into the Baja Boss AT’s as well. I’m actually torn between those, the recons, and Toyo’s. I’ve had all 3 brands and they’re all the same caliber tire, as in the best you can buy, IMO. I’ve got 285/55r20 ridge grapplers on my 21’ limited right now and although I like the look, they’re getting too loud for me. Looks like the Baja boss may be just as loud idk. I’m in Arkansas so a good AT tire is may be all I’m after. I will say that Mickey Thompson tires are dang good tires. I think I’m going to go with the recons on my 23 limited. Do you like yours?

I like them. Have had no issues in rain or the bit of snow we’ve seen, they hum a bit more than I was expecting them to at highway speeds, though it’s not horrible. I have about 10,000 miles on mine so far.
