So currently I have 305/45/22 Nitto Recon Grapplers, I’m happy with them as a tire and think they look great, but the more I see people running 285/55/22’s the more I feel like these 305/45’s look too small.
I have a Readylift 1.5” leveling kit for the front and I don’t think I’ll rub with a taller tire, at least not much. The 305/45 is 32.80 tall and the 285/55 is about 34.37 tall, so inch and a half and would only raise my clearance another 3/4” and I could still fit it in my garage ) I have about 2-3 inches currently, so that shouldn’t be an issue.
While I was on the subject of switch sizes, I was looking at the MT Baja Boss ATs and people had good things to say about them, they are a bit more expensive than the Nittos, but have the snow rating, which we don’t get a ton of snow in St. Louis, but we sometimes do. Also I’m not sure how they compare as far as smoothness, quietness, etc compared to the Nittos. I do mostly on road driving, with a tad bit of off-road, and tow something over 5,000lbs maybe 6-10 times a year.
Maybe I’m overthinking it, but any insight would be greatly appreciate.
