Factory installed parts usually have a different part number than Mopar accessory parts even if it's the same thing. It's an insurance thing.

Back in the day when the Dakota R/T was being made, factory installed wheels for the Dakota R/T were $350 each and had a separate part number than the same exact wheels being sold as Mopar accessories, which were only $150 each.
Makes since... Still the GT exhaust has resonators and Cat back does not.. I'll close my opinion and appreciate yours.

The S-Type can have resonators also.
They just charge you separately if you want them.

I feel like the S-Type has the same kind of sound as the GT exhaust. I have never knowingly heard or seen a truck with the other cat back exhaust kit.

Please do your research... The Ram GT Exhaust is NOT a Borla S-type exhaust. First pic is RAM GT exhaust, 2nd pic is the Borla.

I think people were just referring to this part number from Mopar they are identical looking as the S-Type. The first picture from yours almost looks like a stock exhaust from a RAM truck.

I like my Borla ATAK. Can still hold normal conversations in the cab when driving. Zero drone. It is loud outside, especially when standing directly behind the truck. But I like that. As far as waking up the neighbors, as long as they have any decent insulation in the house it shouldn't be a problems unless their house is within a few feet of your truck. Which would be a ****ty place to live with houses that close together
Haha well unfortunately I guess I live in one of those places because my neighbors are about 20ft away from each other but my extended driveway make me even closer where I park my truck. But that’s great information to have I really appreciate your input on the exhaust topic for sure. I thought about the Atak at first because I wanted that lion roar.

Yes, you can hear the exhaust but it doesn't interfer with normal conversation. Don't have to raise voice to talk.
That’s good info thank you my wife talks a lot so.. she’d be pissed if I droned her out with my exhaust lol

The S type is the GT exhaust.

If you want something quieter you can get the Borla Touring, but I don't see the point.
Sounds like OP just wants the stock exhaust which sounds good but is quiet.
Anything else is going to be very loud on cold starts which is the whole point of an after market exhaust.

The S type is rather quiet inside the cab vs the ATAK which you can at crusiing speeds (but it sounds great).
The S type you can't really hear unless you listing for it, or when you are hamming it with gas.
I think the AWE 0FG is similar to the S type in volume, but a completely differnet sound.
What’s the difference in the sounds I watched a video from AWE’s website on there 180 technology in the exhaust and it made since but what makes the sound different? Like is it just a smoother less throatier growl or?

I love my Borla ATAK also. It can depend on where you live.
Not a problem for me, but if I parked in front of a garage door by a foot or so, it would be extremely loud cold starts if you live in a tiny neighborhood. Great way to start the day with a simile to that sound imo.

Personally I don't care if I wake up one side of my neighbors, and my father lives on the other side and thinks it sounds good and he says "I always hear it when you leave for work"

As far as "zero drone" I wouldn't call it done really, but you can clearly hear the exhaust while driving with steady gas. With that said it has NEVER been a problem for me. Talking inside or music will always be louder with the windows up. I do know if I am using speaker phone people can hear it but no one has complained on a call about it. Using the built in truck's microphone I don't think anyone can hear it (they can hear the stupid wind noise if I have recirc on coming from my front passenger side though).
This is all great information thanks so much for your input. I don’t know I guess I’m just a little more cautious because I just had a baby and if my baby woke up because of someone’s exhaust system I’d be pissed (I love my sleep when I can get it) but I do love the Lion roar of the Atak exhaust it’s a great system.

I have the GT Exhaust (purchased separately from the truck) and I love it. Quiet in the cab during normal driving, aggressive sound when you get on it, which is exactly what I wanted. This video sounds like mine, and when they get close to the tips in the video you can see the resonator(GT Exhaust) Look at the Rebel subforum for the GT Exhaust thread, it list the part numbers.

I wonder who sells it cheaper, Borla or a dealer.
Well from what I found but can’t guarantee 100% it’s the same they look the same but it’s about $400 cheaper from Mopar.

Okay perfect I appreciate the information for sure what size are the tips and are they chrome only? Also, I don’t know if you know but is it high grade stainless?

The GT exhaust doesn't come with tips. You can reuse your current tips or purchase new. I purchased the Black 5" Carven tips and like them. I would rather have the Mopar 5" Black chrome but couldn't justify the price vs. Carven. The GT Exhaust, you are ordering to part numbers 68517364AA and 68517365AA

As previously pointed out, the complete GT exhaust is not the same as the Borla you can order. Having said that, the factory GT exhaust can be quiet as a church mouse while cruising, and is aggressive sounding when you romp on it. It is a little loud on cold start, but I've had aftermarket exhausts that were louder. Cabin noise under normal driving will not be a concern with this exhaust if you go that route, and there are a/m exhausts that will perform similarly.

So, on the GT exhaust if it retrofits the normal exhaust all you would have to get are those two part numbers only the muffler and tailpipe and you’d basically have the GT exhaust? Part #’s 68517365AA & 68517364AA

Ahhh gotcha makes sense. Cheaper option and I looked up other videos and it sounds really good as well. Win/win.
You'll need to shop around for best shipping prices. Most online vendors are close in product price but WAY far apart with shipping prices.
