LED 3rd Brake Light unadvised!

It has been confirmed that on a great many Key-less Ignition RAM trucks, if equipped, the LED 3rd brake light can cause a malfunction in the Key-less RF system. Certain brands of LED's generate a frequency that interferes with the Key-less Systems ability to detect the FOB, thus generating the message "FOB NOT DETECTED and or FOB HAS LEFT THE VEHICLE". Once the LED chip is removed from the 3rd brake light and either replaced with a standard halogen bulb and or a known safe LED chip, the error issue should go away. If not you may have a deeper issue, maybe with your RF MOD and or your ECM, BCM or maybe something so simple as a bad battery in the FOB.

I've had Lasfit in our 2019 and our two 2020's without issue. These are what I utilized and they have performed flawlessly with zero issues - for the bulbs or the truck. Fobs have never malfunctioned.

This is more expensive but it supposed to solve the issue with key fobs not being detected.

I purchased a week ago before the bulb recommendation change, had issues with my key fob, and they contacted me after my purchase to see my satisfaction. I appreciate this proactive communication btw and they are offering me for $10 to get the upgraded version, shipping included. So a decent fix by them but this thread has been going on for awhile. Surprised it took them this long to fully switch the type of bulb they recommend.

Assume you are using the same bulb for cargo as for brake? So just ordered two 2-packs of the recommended link?

Yep don’t use crappy LEDs. Just replaced my Halogen 3rd brake light bulbs with these LEDs. Yes cargo and brake lights use two different LEDs.
