Big shoutout to JBowman on helping me with the process and dropping some knowledge on me. I too can confirm that the part number 90019 does work for new gen rams, 2019 at least. I called RC and was told that model would not work and I needed an inline model which was $100 more. Bowman said his worked so pulled the trigger on one from amazon for $150 and successfully recalibrated my truck yesterday. Had a little difficulty eyeballing the tape measure to see how big my tires actually were but took a stab in the dark and got lucky and guessed right the first time. Truck is dead on with two different GPS applications and my MPG has gotten a little better since shift points were adjusted. Before adjusting, at certain cruising speeds my truck wouldn't shift and seemed to hang out in a higher RPM range than it needed to.

Running 275/60/20 which are stated to be 33's but needed to calibrate for 32.50
Awesome! Happy to hear that it worked out for you and your ride.

Is this tool something that has to be left plugged in? Or use to calibrate then unplug?

I switched tires out to 285/60/20 about 10,000 miles ago. Haven't made any speedo adjustment since my 2 local dealers say they cant do it. Speedo is off 3 mph at 70. That really doesnt bother me. And i dont feel any significant difference or problems with shift points. My question is, am i doing any longterm damage to the drivetrain by not informing the computer that the tires are not stock size? I am reticent to make the adjustment outside of a dealer to avoid any warranty issues, especially since the speedo difference doesnt bother me. I dont want to have to adjust back to factory settings when being serviced. Am I being over cautious on the warranty issue?

I have the RC 90019. I am trying to use it with my 2021 Ram 1500 with park sense (not assist) I have the cable that is supposed to plug into the green block under the left side of the dash. When i plug it all in the programmer gets stuck at the "starting" screen. Anyone have any ideas what I'm doing wrong? I did update the programmer prior to use.
Thanks

Well I got the RC 90019 to work, Dealer says they cannot recalibrate. I do not have park assist, only brake assist and park sense. Any other ideas?

You got it to work or you didn’t get it working? Where do you have your power cable plugged in? If using a USB port that might be the problem… I’d suggest using the 12v adapter and plug it in up on the spot on your dash. Using the USB ports seem to be hit or miss due to power issues for the unit. I haven’t had any issues using the power source up on the dash. Shoot me a message if that doesn’t work. We’ll figure it out.

I did end up having to use a plug adapter rather than the USB port. I was able to get the unit to reprogram the tire size but it did disable park sense. Had to go back to stock to keep park sense which I do use. Thanks

Do you have the front and rear brake assist also? I do have brake assist (front and rear are turned off, I do have the warning set for the front brakes) and I have park sense enabled.

So just to shed some light on what @Dcsnet found with his specific case, the Rough Country tool 90019 did disable his park sense sensors when selecting a tire size over 33.75”. Like I said, I’m on 35’s but my tool is set to 33.25 since that is what my tires actually measured at when on the vehicle. That gave me the most accurate speedometer reading. We did get Dcsnets ParkSense to work when he adjusted his tire size to 33.75. That said, it appears that if selecting a tire size larger than 34” it may disable ParkSense. Unfortunately we don’t know the exact cutoff point, nor do we know if all selections above 34” will disable it. I will say that you should be fine running 35’s since the actual tire size measures less when setting the programmer. But if going over 35’s then this may not be the solution for you.

Dangit dude I just read all your posts in here and I was about to buy the unit you suggested but it sounds like it won’t work for my 37s that actually measure a true 36” 😭 haha

Doesn't matter what you use to adjust for taller tires. With the size you are running there are going to be issues with sensors.

Wait really? The in-line unit doesn’t fix that issue? What about TazerDT?

Quick question. So I picked up my new 2022 Limited and had them fit 35s (Nittos) and they mentioned the issues with knocking out parksense. So I told them to set to 34" and the speedo is reading around 2mph slower at 70mph and 1mph at 30. I have just bought a Tazer DT which with the latest firmware, is compatible with the 2022/23 MYs. I was thinking of increasing tire size myself using the Tazer to see if I can get it bang on the money, but also to see exactly when the parksense stops working. If I trigger the parksense to stop working, will it start working again once a lower setting has been re-entered or does it completely screw it up?

Parksense should return once a tire size is selected that the system agrees with.

I spoke to my dealer. They used the official ram system to update the size and they said they had to jump through hoops but will have another go at setting it more accurate. With ram they only do tire size in half inch increments. I think my 35s are around 34.25 but I'd prefer it be set to 34.5.

They basically got a a firmware update from ram to be able to go higher
