Tow mirrors tilt on reverse

Seems that a lot of people on here were fooled by thinking that the Tow Mirrors were power folding mirrors (I was one of them). But I'm having another issue and can't seem to get a straight answer for. I have the tow mirrors and my Uconnect has the option to have the mirrors tilt when the truck goes into reverse. But when I try to select it, it doesn't allow me to. I took it into the dealership and they said the computer says its active, but then came back and told me that its not an option with the tow mirrors. Not sure why it wouldn't be an option considering that they are power mirrors already.

Is anyone else having this same issue? Is it just my truck having an issue? or is it my dealership not knowing what they are doing?

I have no idea, I have only tried them in the horizontal. I will go try vertical

It has been clear for a while that the tow mirrors did not power fold...

I never tried to tilt them with the tow mirrors up.... I turned off the tilt as it tilts way to low to be useful and there is no way to adjust how far down they tilt.

I bought my truck right before Thanksgiving, and didn't come across this site until this past Thursday. I wish I did some more research before hand. But thanks for the info on the tilt going really low

They tilt in vertical, they will even tilt if one is horizontal and other is vertical at the same time.

Thanks for checking that out for me. I'll be making a call to the dealership and pushing them to fix it.

I have a problem where every once in a while, the passenger side mirror will stay tilted down after I back up. I have to manually tilt is back up to driving position.

I have mine off too. The tilt is way more than what the 4th gen did. I manually tilt them when backing in a tight spot to keep the passenger side out of harms way and monitor the curb to wheel distance.

Sounds like something Ram could fix with an OTA (over-the-air) update.

I'm thinking that if everyone on this site who is a 2019 Ram 1500 owner complains to their dealer's service manager, or directly to Ram Care, or both, eventually they'd get the word that the 2019s need a software update to make the reverse-tilt feature work as well as it did on the Gen 4 trucks.

If everyone just disables the function and doesn't use it and doesn't complain to dealer or Ram Care, it'll never get fixed.

You are correct... I did indeed send an email to RAM through the MOPAR website about being able to adjust the tilt and possibly saving the setting on the seat memory function.

This is is the webpage I used to contact them

New Ram owner here and this is news to me. I had this feature on my other trucks/vehicles and was bummed that these mirrors didn’t come with that feature. I have a bighorn with tow group, are you guys saying that this is a feature that can be turned on with tow mirrors?

I have the 12" screen and its an option in the settings menu. Except for the fact the computer won't actually allow me to turn them "ON".

Doesn’t look like I have that option, went to “settings” and then to “mirrors/wipers” and the only option there for me has to do with lights and wipers.
