What's everyone using for an aftermarket cellphone holder? Theres a couple different brands that use existing screws in the dash to secure them then there's a couple different cup holder designs. If you're using and aftermarket holder can you post some pictures please? I'm trying to decide one which one to get. Thanks

I did an extensive search and didn't find anything to my liking, some to big and bulky, others too expensive, others I didn't like the placement so I ended up using one of those magnet mounts that I was using on my 4th gen

I’ve got a Bulletpoint dual mount and absolutely love it. They’re pricy but second to none in build quality IMO.

That is exactly my dilemma now.

Is that a stick on mount?
Yes uses 3m tape. I had it on my 4gen but on top of the dash, flat surface so it never got loose. Where I have it now my concern was that area has a little bit of a curve plus the weight might bring it down but so far has not come down. I left it alone for a day or two before I started to actually put the phone on top of it.
Its been months now but if it fails I was planning on getting this from course

Just out of curiosity, what is the need for a phone holder now that apple/android carplay/auto is nearly standard and becoming more wireless? Honest question... not trying to be jerk.
for me I don't always turn on my Bluetooth, but I always have my phone on the phone holder so if I must take a call it is easy to answer and put it on speaker. vs where the stock phone holder is at the center console

ProClip all the way. I've used these mounts on my last three vehicles.

Here's their site: Phone Mounts for Your Car Dashboard

You select the mount for the 1500 according to year and then find a cradle for your phone. Things to consider:

1. It's a strong, minimalist mount that holds the phone securely even on rough roads. The phone locks in and does not twist or slip since it's actually held in place by the side slots on the cradle. No reliance on magnets.
2. Charges the phone (with appropriate cradle) and connects to the UConnect well. (CarPlay for me)
3. I really like the placement on the dash. It could angle better towards the driver. My installation is a bit down on the left and faces a bit too much towards the back of the truck but you can read and manipulate the screen just fine. I'm 6'1" and my driving position is with the seat fully slid back. I can reach the phone very easily.
4. As you'll notice in the pictures I was able to embed the lightening cable into the dash so there is no dangling cable to get yanked.

course motorsports mount is super nice! I had a ram mount in my jeep but i didn't want something that was super noticeable in the truck

Anyone have the course motor sports with a mag safe mount? I want to know if it has wireless charging.

I have one in my RAM. It does have wireless charging for Iphone. I have an Android, so I had to purchase rings on amazon that I attached to the back of my phone, and it works great. I plugged the USB in and ran the cable behind the radio, so there is no wire hanging. I definitely recommend this phone mount.

I'm a Pro Clip man for years and different model trucks! Whatever you pick, stay away from the cupholder versions. You have to take your eyes off the road whereas some of the others are high mounts keeping your vision out the windshield & ahead of you.
